time-warp of Old School Hip Hop meets Jazz and Reggae,
….and it goes Boom!  

From her first DIY recordings on 4-track tape to her work today, Dasha defies all expectations, never hesitating to mix things up and cross barriers.  In « Can’t Put a Price on Dat », she uses Stand-up Bass on 90’s style Boom Bap drum samples, topped with a warm, bouncy, ska skank made entirely of trombones.  Her sassy, laid back, west coast rapping, contrasted by fierce backing vocals, tells a lackadaisical tale of sex and romance, affirming that kindness is the key to what money can’t buy.

Internet phenomenon since 2016 jamming on Bob Marley's « Three Little Birds » with busker Lampa Faly, Dasha Pearl is a California raised singer/songwriter, born Dierdre Dubois in New York in 1969. Established in Paris as the « Otherworldly » voice of Ekova in ‘94,  she was crowned  « Best Upcoming Artist Jazz » and nominated « Best Album Jazz » with Julien Lourau Groove Gang at the French Grammy’s 1999. Jazz diva since 2007, Dasha’s textured vocal style is often compared to Amy Winehouse or Erykah Badu.
