Deadlight District is a cold, instrumental descent into a war-ravaged Russian financial zone. It opens with glitched Soviet tones and a slow, distorted kick—like distant shellfire in concrete canyons. Metallic synths rise like broken sirens, layered over industrial rhythms that echo malfunctioning escalators and flickering LED tickers. Midway, detuned piano and ghostly pads evoke the hollow grandeur of abandoned boardrooms and shattered wealth. The climax erupts in glitchy breakbeats and collapsing sonic architecture. It fades into a low-frequency hum and the whistle of wind through broken glass. Stark, cinematic, and unforgiving.

It’s dark disco time. Inspired by the slow and dark dance tracks of the new beat period, V/sions aims to combine the sound of the 80s with the postmodern sound of today. A crossover mix of the light-flooded Italo-Disco and the classic Belgian New Beat-style, deeply rooted in EBM. This is the sound of a modern cult of today. 

V/sions is a DJ from Dresden, Germany.

His musical conception is extensive. Impressed by Industrial and Power Electronics, his love located in the techno of the early 90s, EBM and New Beat. All these musical influences are part of his DJ sets, which he combines with his own touch. Music as a universal language forms its conceptual orientation, for which he always provides surprises and a liveliness in his performances."

@lukr-range is a Berlin-based DJ and producer. She grew up and developed in the Berlin nightlife scene and started to perform as a DJ in clubs such as :// about blank, Arena and Suicide Circus in 2017, dominating the floors with raw and aggressive techno beats. Her sets are always energetic and characterised by fast drums, punching kicks, metallic snares and jumping bass lines, creating a fluent, dark, hypnotic and deep journey through music. Besides DJ-ing she is also known for the work with @sonderberlin colective, her very own productions and the residency at the @eclectiqueberlin events. The mix that Lukr Range has recorded for us is way different than her usual style so check it out!

It’s been a very challenging year for everyone, but one thing we will always need to help get us through is music. And as Shakespeare said, “If music be the food of love, play on”, so Cod3 QR will play on and continue to provide a diverse style of electronic music that will hopefully help lift your spirits.

With previous releases including tracks later revealed to be by the likes of Agents of Time, JoeFarr, Nicolas Bougaieff, Madben, CYRK, R.O.S.H, Galaxy Lane and more; plus support from DJs like Laurent Garnier, who licensed a track to his Tsugi Electro Mix (Francois V’s ‘Electro’ taken from Cod3QR001), Cod3QR’s profile has steadily grown as a label releasing quality music.

As with previous releases, music is the label’s main focus, so you'll have to wait another 2 months to find out who is behind this latest release. Head to their Instagram page (ig: cod3qr) for clues and reveals of artist identities.

As a final note: although this is the label’s last release of 2020, they promise to bring you a big surprise in 2021, so keep your eyes peeled!
