One of the dance music legacies of the noughties was undoubtedly the emergence of countries beyond the traditional hub of Central Europe and U.S.A. Countries such as Argentina, Israel, Hungary, Romania and Russia are just a few who found fame for both their events and musical production. As we begin the new decade, the latest territorial star to emerge is Brazil and Gabe & Marcello are one of the production duos who are at the forefront of this creative charge. 

The Original Mix first came to our attention due to Gui Boratto selecting it for his recent Mix Collection comp’. Sharing its name with Bruno’s fictitious Austrian TV show, ‘Funky Zeit’ is a fierce slab of tech-house whose cloth is cut with pin-point precision; it’s infectious groove is a twisted weave of tribal beats, distorted vocals and the occasional punch of a house stab. A more than suitable fit for a variety of dancefloors.

Further dressing comes courtesy of man-of-the-moment Yousef, who adds some armour plate to proceedings to create a tougher interpretation for the later (or earlier) hours. The remix builds toward a late, extended break that will whip even the most stubborn of floors into submission. With a dub thrown in for good measure, this is yet another superb Yos production that adds to his ever-growing roster.
