Introducing FNTM! (pronounced Phantom) and their debut EP “Hex”, 2 producer DJs with what can genuinely be described as a unique sound. Pulling and moulding styles like Dubstep, Trap & DnB together to make a pounding and gritty 4 track EP that gets straight to the point. No filler, no 2 minute intro, just madness! “Hex” leads the pack with it's seasick intro percussion and dark atmosphere leading to a devastating drop of sub and rattling ethnic drums increasing its claustrophobia. Next is “Thunder Roll” with it's subtle build that leads to what we describe as a “rainstorm of knives” as the synth swishes whilst the pulsating sub rhythm takes care of the low end. “Diamonds” is a relentless head noddy beast led by the ever evolving synth and the intricate drums constantly switching up the track and causing surprises each bar. Lastly we have the madness of “Point Blank”, crazy percussion buzzing from all sides, a hyped bassline and effects that will make you feel like you're being tailed by the police.

Matta maintain their bass heavy experimental style with the new “Lo Co” EP released on their label Das Heavy. Opening the EP is “Lo Co”, a heads down, 'go for it' type of dance floor track with its bouncing bass, swung drums and intricate percussion all pulled together by the uneasy barking synths. Next is “It Feels Like”, an upfront, lumbering and sub heavy banger with its hypnotic repeating vocals occasionally broken up with delicate atmospheric pads. Following this is the claustrophobic “Negative Space” born from the concept of aural warfare with its confrontational sounds and trippy drums, the sound track to a dancehall from hell. Last is “Orbit” which opens with soft pads before giving way to barrage of crunchy rave stabs and and a deep bouncing sub bass. This killer of a track is already ruining dance floors.
