From timeless celestial house to body warping electro, star on the rise KT delivers 60 minutes of all-vinyl gems in the latest Junction 2 mix.

Residing in London and working at the forefront of the scene for over a decade, northern crate digger extraordinaire and Sisu resident, KT, has demonstrated her wizardry on the decks with sublime selections at The Cause, Village Underground, Corsica Studios and The Lion and Lamb to name a few.

Her versatile sound and taste encapsulates everything from rare 90’s house, electro, trance, prog, garage, new wave breaks and everything in-between. Since clubs re-opened she's been closely affiliated with the Alien Communications family and has played at their infamous London parties alongside the likes of Silverlining, Truly Madly, Move D, Mathew Jonson, DMX Krew, Adam Pits, Sansibar, DJ Masda and more. Other appearances include her stream for the Late Night Shopper crew, Gunfinger Food x Next Door Records in-store and guest mixes on London’s Balamii, Netil Radio, Voices, Threads and Brixton Radio.

If you’ve been lucky enough to catch her play then you’ll know how slick her selections are. Expect another energy fuelled performance next Sunday as the UK based vinyl junkie joins Helena Hauff, Hector Oaks, Karenn, MARRØN and Armând on The Car Park stage at Junction 2: Inner-City. Keep an eye out on the timetable for a few sets at ION Festival too.

Junction 2 Mix Series 036 - KT

London based DJ, @sisu-crew resident and Alien Communications regular KT has been absolutely tearing dancefloors apart following a solid run of bookings playing alongside some of the scenes most well renowned names, most recently appearing at Junction 2 and ION Festival.

After nagging her for a mix early on this year, we're so very stoked to finally be able to share this kick-ass vinyl only recording on our series with you all. Here, KT effortlessly mixes through bubbling 90's house, acid, breaks, trance and electro, reflecting a snapshot of her collection, typically heard during the early hours of her sets in da club. 

Mind bending, deep and dreamy psychedlia infused sounds found within. Hold yer breath and prepare to dive deep into the abyss, this mix doesn't hold back one bit...

Josh Baker - Subsonic [Unreleased]

The three tracks for this EP are lovingly crafted using his collection of vintage drum machines, samplers and expansive modular setup, and are presented in both stereo and Dolby Atmos. Opener 'havin it' is quick-stepping, low slung house cut lit up with glistening chords and gorgeous soul samples that shine through next to low-key but euphoric 90s trance progressions. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside while remaining locked to the groove. 'lush' is just that, with summery harp strums shimmering across dusty and speedy deep house drums that sweep you up and fill your heart with hope and joy. It's a richly layered sound with a curiousness that truly enchants. Lastly, 'WNE' straightens your back with upright and snappy drums, woody percussion and frayed edged chords that have a cosy nostalgic glow. Coated in a lo-fi haze, plunging bass and aching vocal fragments pull you in different directions as you hurry to keep up with the frisky groove.

Dan Beaumont:  Music To… Talk To Spirits

For the first single from a 6-track EP from Montreal's Clarian (who is also one half of Footprintz), the Canadian reached well beyond the border to collaborate with Tel Aviv-born, Madrid-based producer Guy Gerber on "Claire." Gerber has been a major player on Israel's electronic scene since 2006, running his own Supplemental Facts label and infusing traces of minimal techno, tech house, downtempo and deep house in his productions, while remaining singular in his approach. Clarian's vocal contributions were at the heart of Gerber's progressive house-leaning Fabric mix from last year, which joined the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Omar-S of artists that turned in single-artist mixes to the series. "Claire" starts amid a queasy vocal snippet (with Clarian's French whisper lodged in at the midpoint) and threatens to go darker and deeper. But a steady handclap and glimmering melodic line uplifts and casts light across this seven-minute track.

Tony Pegas and Don Corrieri’s Gargoyle Records was active between 1995-1997. Based in Baltimore they released seven killer records under various aliases. I absolutely adore their super raw production style. Every track has got character for days and is packed to the brim with East coast attitude.

We’ve picked four tracks from across a couple of EPs for this first reissue which all bang to the max and will fit into quite a variety of club circumstances. On top of that there is a ridiculously sick fifth track (Do You Believe) that was written during that time but never released. Potentially my favourite one of the bunch I am super excited to be able to get this one the release that it always deserved.

There will be a second EP to follow so keep your eyes peeled...
