This is an original New Super Mario Bros. DS-inspired overworld theme for the sky/cloud levels in that game.

Half the worlds in New Super Mario Bros. DS happen to have unique overworld themes, so I figured it'd be neat to explore the concept of creating unique overworld themes for the remaining worlds that lacked them. These themes typically take some vague amount of inspiration from similar themes that may exist in other games, mainly focusing on the New Super Mario Bros. series.

Some noteworthy inspirations, particularly in terms of the melodies:
- In terms of its general atmosphere, I took a lot of inspiration from the Sky world map themes from both New Super Mario Bros. DS and Wii's soundtracks, as well as the general happy and bouncy feel of the games' Athletic themes.
- The melodies themselves are once again reworked renditions of the main theme's melodies, made to (hopefully) fit the more bouncy aesthetic, as well as being a nod to the fact that these stages generally used the athletic and main overworld themes in the original game.

i had SO much fun making this! originally, i was going to do a cover of Ever Higher but joy tay ended up having the exact same idea as me (and got it out so much quicker than i could, seriously she cranks these things OUT.) i have at least one other song in mind to cover from the new DELTARUNE chapters, but i'm still trying to figure out how to go about it.

so, i decided to set my sights on another track thats been an absolute earworm in my head since fighting jackenstein. this track is wonderfully dynamic and i was really able to use this as an opportunity to learn some new things in furnace! i even utilized a bit of extended ch3 here, which i've NEVER touched prior to this track... so of course it's used quite sparingly, only about a couple instances

i put a huge amount of effort and love into this cover and i hope others will be able to enjoy it as much as i did making it!
