This was recorded off the decks live at the Freehouse for the Collected Monthly in April.  Was a great night, hadn't been back to play in S'toon for a while and got to throw down with my boys Emilio and Jono.  Hope this gets some toes tapping after the fact, as that night was bumping!

My latest work and a new artistic direction. Tropicasa EP features three tracks of Deep, Tropical Latin Tech House.

"La Selva" translates to "The Jungle" in English. Slower dembau rhythm with Latin percussion and nature sounds to create a rainforest vibe complemented by a dark Cumbia style bass undertone and ominous female vocal samples.

"Soledad" the deeper tech house track on this release with focus on the guitar loops in triplets, synth arps, and a heart pumping switch up at the last drop.

"Sambassim" a portmanteau of Samba and Bass, inspired by Brazilian rhythms and guitar riffs. Many layer of Latin percussion with techno style repetition and an ascending and descending bassline.

Dr. Prasenjit (Prasun) Das is a musician and medical doctor out of British Columbia Canada. Having always had a love for music, he began playing the piano at eight years of age and has been developing his musical repertoire ever since. Classical training through the Royal Conservatory had helped to compete and perform on the national stage. With numerous scholarships and achievements and performances to his name, Prasun specializes in piano and keyboard instrumentation and is currently working on ambient, downtempo, and fusion electronic recording and production. In addition to having been resident DJ for almost every music venue in Saskatoon, he is responsible for audio engineering and sound design for live shows and is involved with numerous live acts including an electro-jazz duo, DJ and drummer combo, and several others. Prasun also devotes some of his musical efforts for weddings and corporate events in both a solo piano and DJ capacity. After obtaining his MD from the University of Saskatchewan, Prasun continues to make his mark on the local musical scene and is always eager to collaborate with a wide range of producers, instrumentalists, and vocalists.
