Haagen, Free flow (demo)

Haagen's latest offering is the result of a collaboration with Ryuzen (Alcvin Ryuzen Ramos) a grandmaster of the shakuhachi flute performed live.  Haagen has also been exploring live looping and live vocals to take his sound into new places.

        Dark Risms features Amrit Basi (of Blackberry Wood) on acoustic drums, Kurai Mubaiwa Kurai on finger piano and vocals, with guests (Lisa Walker on electronic percussion).  Deep Dark Risms debut at the Hope for Haiti Benefit on January 28, 2010 at the Wise Hall in Vancouver.

Haagen is charting into new territories, adding new elements and techniques. This set was debut on January 23, 2010 at Sequential Circus 6 (with guests Amrit Basi on drums and Theta Phoenix on vocals).  

    This live jam includes live performance/loops from Ryu-zen on shakuhachi flute, digeridoo, percussion, and featuring Theda Phoenix, Ryu-zen, and Haagen on vocals.  Recorded from start to end, in one take, totally improvised. Enjoy.

A Vancouver based, Canadian live electronic performance artist whose intricate custom grooves, and energy, and a massive sounds defies description.Haagen (aka Dasz) is also an inventor, and a sound designer and tester for world renowned music instrument brands such as Clavia DMI and Elektron DMI.

Over the past 2 years Haagen has been playing his heart out at a large number of local events including festivals (such as Shambalah, Entheos, Powell Street Festival) performing a fusion of live electronic music, with collaborators such as grandmaster Alcvin Ryuzen-Ramos (Shakuhachi flute, didgeridoo) Amrit Basi of Blackberry Wood (acoustic drums), Kurai Mubaiwa Kurai (finger piano. xylophone and vocals), Grooved Whale (electronics, violin, whales), and Theda Phoenix (vocals).

In 2011, Haagen is secretly working in the studio refining a new style. More to come soon!
