A track that was heard everywhere from the big gun sets at festivals to the dingy backrooms of clublands underworld months before it officially came out - Shame Cube caught the ear of the more intelligent modern clubber with its unmistakably Sian style vocal creeping into a densely textured mash of beats and bass wobble. 

It marked a segway further into our dark and edgy strobe lit world inhabited solely by Octopus and its henchmen. Having already wrestled into the number 2 spot on Beatport Techno Top 100, we felt it a likely contender for a fan remix contest and we assigned Marc Houle and Oliver Huntemann the tasks of leading the way with their insanely creative interpretations, plus we opened the doors to hordes of fans to appear on this ep alongside the talented trio of producers, and selected a winner named Philip Lowenbek, who´s truly left field mix won us over with a straight-up adventurous attempt. Outstanding reimaginings of a new school cult classic tune, the mixes harness the vibe and stay true to that disturbingly catchy call to arms vocal ¨when will you look at yourself?¨.

Valencia-born Upercent's debut on Sum Over Histories is the EP 'Taula Baser', this four-track sonic journey is a notable addition to his already impressive discography, which includes releases on Innervisions, Kompakt, TAU, and Diynamic.

The EP starts with the heavy club anthem 'Revolta' ('rebellion' in Valencian), born from a memorable night in Munich, a groovy banger fueled by intricate rhythms. A hypnotic vocal motif sets the stage for the listener in Upercent's signature sonic realm.

Next up is ‘Contorsiona’, a mesmerizing journey driven by a pulsating rhythm, accompanied by hefty drums, urgent chimes, and warped vocals. Upercent builds tension towards a massive breakdown, leading to an energetic release and a captivating conclusion.

'Mussol' (owl in Valencian) is the penultimate track, evoking the tranquility of being a night owl. Upercent's unique touch is evident in its engaging simplicity, with mesmerizing percussion and a moody, solemn atmosphere that keeps you enthralled.

'Reminiscencia' concludes the EP with its relentless dynamism, this track unfolds deliberately, constructing an intricate sonic landscape that evokes a power and majesty. The introduction of a repetitive vocal midway intensifies the disquieting ambiance. A pervasive air envelops the audience in darkness as the EP reaches its conclusion.

Deep groove purveyor and Toronto mainstay Tyler Hill lands on Ellum Audio with a new pair of tracks that come with a remix by label regular AVNU.

Tyler Hill is an artist who dips into many musical influences, from funk to European electronica to synth-infused 80s magical via hip hop and electronica. He plays all around Toronto's key venues, is one half of DJ duo +ONE and hosts a residency at Wiggle Room, which is also the name of the label he recently launched with his long-time friend and manager, Takin Nateghi.

Opener ‘Smooth' is a heavy and thumping track that drips with sweat and sleazy vocals. The bass rumbles down low, and the raw percussion adds extra menace to this assured dance floor workout. AVNU is one of Maceo Plex’s most hotly-tipped acts of recent years. He is based on the East Coast of Scotland and dropped his superbly adventurous album ‘Tough To Love But Worth The Effort’ here in May 2022 and then followed it up with a collaboration with Maceo on 'Clickbait (This Ain't Hollywood)' back in July. His remix is explosive, with serrated synths flashing about the mix and distorted bass bringing extra darkness to the original. The superb 'Move' is another solid house sound with a wonky low end and swaying drums that swing low. Rising synths keep things moving while dub-wise vocals layer some Afro influence to this most characterful of tracks.

Tyler Hill again shows why he is such a hot property in house music with this latest offering.

Madloch's 3rd Avenue welcomes Greek producer ThinkDeep for his label debut with the Burning Secrets EP. Based in Athens, ThinkDeep has been steadily building his reputation in the progressive house scene with carefully crafted productions that balance melody and depth. The EP features three originals, Burning Secrets, Fading, and Memory Lane, each highlighting his refined sense for groove and atmosphere.

Previously, ThinkDeep appeared on Future Avenue, where his music quickly caught attention, paving the way for this first outing on the parent label. His wider discography also includes releases on respected imprints such as Clubsonica Records, Audiolael Music, Stellar Black, Dopamine White, and Another Life Music, establishing him as a promising name to watch in the genre.

With recent releases for some of the scene’s leading labels, Fideles (aka Daniele Aprile and Mario Roberti) are an Italian duo on the rise. Their spellbinding ‘Impressum’ EP is both a fine example of the Fideles sound and exactly in keeping with the direction Tale Of Us are steering their Afterlife label. Inspired by the Ionian sea in Southern Italy, low-pitched basslines and soaring synths give the tracks just the right amount of drama, whilst the rich sound-design allows them to make the most of a big system; something Tale Of Us have put to great use in their sets this year. Take the emotionally-charged title track, the rolling, mechanical drums of ‘Kalotypse’ or the more restrained ‘Hadar’. Across all five tracks Fideles’ character shines through the adventurous melodies and distinctive touch, creating an inspiring next episode of the Afterlife catalogue.
