NYC-based DJ & producer Michael Grald has been sending us his brand of vocal tech since 2022. On hearing his first demos, we paired him up with Terri-Anne, and they released the percussive roller “City Of New York” that same year. Since then, we’ve watched him develop his sound via Amsterdam-based label, Anything Can Happen. His latest release for us takes in some Amsterdam influence for sure as he heads into deeper house territory with “In My Head”. A groovy beat, lovely bubbling synths, and a super, loopy vocal deliver all you need here for a DJ-friendly roller. Classy.

Finding new artists and helping them deliver straight fire for DJs is the core of what we do at Glasgow Underground. Spanish deep house and disco producer Chanknous has a sound that is close to our heart, and with releases on Deepalma and collaborations with the likes of Lee Wilson, he's in that bubbling-under zone that we love to develop. For his GU debut, he takes Britney’s noughties smash and gives it a slow-burning makeover. Add some classic house stabs, a wickedly wandering bass line, and you have a killer slice of Zara deepness.

Damian Lazarus has been a true wizard of the underground, conjuring club anthems that cut through the fog with hypnotic energy. With "Magickal Remixed (Part I)," he's opened a portal into a whole new dimension. We love Chilean-based producer Bruno Bona’s attitude. Since the beginning of 2023, he has been delivering regular demos to our inbox. With feedback, they have improved. Despite not landing a release since then, he’s stuck with us. As time progressed, we’ve seen him pick up releases on tastemaker imprints like LTF and Moodchild. At the beginning of this year, he released a version of the Justin Timberlake hit “Sexy Back” that has delighted DJs and smashed the streaming platforms. This year, he cracked it and has landed his GU debut. “Tentando” reminds us of one of our most-celebrated releases, “Buscando Money”. They both deliver wicked grooves and hooky-as-hell Reggaeton toplines. Here’s hoping Bruno hits the same levels as TWENTY SIX and Tayson Kryss did. Dive in!

Drumcode favourite Harvey McKay returns to the label with a darker new sound.

The Glaswegian has been a regular contributor over the years, highlighted by the memorable ‘The Illusion of Control’ EP in 2014 and his newer work with brother Ryan under the Alias moniker. Earlier this year Drumcode released the duo’s ‘Pentatonic’ EP and featured a mix on Adam Beyer’s radio, which included ‘Black Dolphin’, kickstarting the hype on the track.

Named after the infamous Russian prison, the title track is dark, tough, deeply textured brooding affair, with a menacing touch than runs through its core. McKay then brings in a huge synth line and changes up the dynamic of the track, giving it a powerful and driving feel. ‘Retox’ is a dark and twisted heavy-hitting cut, driven by aggressive drums and bassline, while a hypnotic synth line sustains a sense of tension throughout the six-minute track. Concluding the package is ‘Cover Up’, a fantastic stripped back exploration into dark atmospheric techno territory that’s tailor made for the winter warehouse raving season.
