This EP features edits by Bottin, Sleazy McQueen, Albion, The Ivory Boy and Avanti. All tracks are edits from obscure Italian songs released between 1974 and 1980.
Comes in a handmade jacket, limited pressing.

Juno: If you're going to launch a new re-edit series, it's probably wise to get some big hitters on board. That's certainly what the people behind Theme From Kaffe have done for their debut offering. Italian heavyweights Bottin lead the way with "Ora La So", a lo-slung, Clavinet-heavy chunk of dirty Balearica blessed with sleazy, whispered vocals. Sleazy McQueen continues the eccentric theme with the chugging reggae-disco bounce of "Back To Hell", before Albion ups the tempo on the dusty, vocoder-laden wonky disco chug of "Experimento". An excellent EP concludes with the sprawling soundtrack disco of Ivory Boy's "Mare" and "Bright Mezcal" by Avanti, a curiously bumpin chunk of dub disco weirdness blessed with alien synths and a brilliantly rubbery bassline.

Sleazy McQueen - Back To Hell

Call us crazy, but we've always had a soft spot for Crazy P here at Data Transmission, which if you knew what the 'P' stood for, makes that sentence take on a whole new colour... Anyhoo, what we're trying to say is that the pioneering UK trio have been able to call us fans for a long time and so it didn't take us long - less than half a second in fact - to say yes when they offered us band member Hot Toddy's remix of 'Something More' to premiere.

Taken from their acclaimed album, ‘Walk Dance Talk Sing’, which arrived via their own Walk Don't Walk imprint earlier in the year, Toddy reshapes 'Something More' into, well something more, transforming the broody, guitar driven original into a retrofitted slice of disco jam packed with groove and guaranteed to get hips swaying on the dance floor.

Arriving October 30th as part of a package that also sees Ron Basejam, Asadinho, Juju & Jordash and Luke Solomon serve up remixes of cuts from their last album, you can stream Hot Toddy's 'Disco Redux' of Crazy P's 'Something More' in full below.

For Cerrone's new EP "afro" to be released 12th february, LeonxLeon from our crew Les Yeux Orange was asked by his record company, Because Music, to do an official remix of this track, Funk Makossa, taking it's roots in Manu Dibango's classic track from 1972, "Soul Makossa". Our man LeonxLeon managed to keep the afro vibe while giving it a balearic house touch by twisting the bassline, to finally give it away and drop an acid line. We recon it’s time for a full Junktion EP on Outplay! You can say Wide Awake is an appropriate title after a wonderful 2015 with a string of EP’s on Sleazy Beats, Razor-n-Tape and Rose Records. This four tracker explores the sound he’s been developing over the years and even touches a newer side. 
The EP closes down with “Don’t Mess Up” for a more contemplative jazzy track with some smooth sampling and afro touches.
