After spending Halloween in the Bermuda Triangle, it’s fair to say we’re feeling a little worse for wear this week. A combination of jetlag, rum and one of natures most mysterious forces has taken its toll and left us feeling seriously depleted. We need a detox. We need rehab, which considering this weeks podcast comes from Audio Rehab boss Mark Radford seems entirely appropriate. 

Long one of our favourite DJs in the capital Mark come a long way since growing up in the sleepy town of Bishop Stortford; enveloping himself in the music and culture at the beating heart of London’s electronic music scene. As head of one of London’s most influential underground labels with its own residency at iconic city nightspot Ministry of Sound, a desire to harness and expose fresh talent and with the backing of Rinse FM’s administration and PR teams Mark Radford has firmly established himself at the vanguard of the scene and thus been on our radar as a talent we needed on the podcast for quite some time.

Aside from running one of our favourite labels he has garnered a fierce reputation for his work in the DJ booth and studio himself and it’s these talents we have the pleasure of presenting you today with this exclusive mix. With the next Audio Rehab takeover scheduled for  November 22nd and Mark appearing alongside the likes of German Brigante and Carneo Beats to name but a few this is the perfect tonic for even the most epic of Halloween hangovers and has already got us in the mood for a night on the tiles at Ministry. DTP408 - Mark Radford - Datatransmission

Mondays are bleak by definition but and November Mondays especially so. It’s cold, dreary and not quite Christmas. In short everything about today should suck but, wait what’s this light on an otherwise gloomy day? It’s only the bloody DT podcast and this week we’ve got an extra special mix to warm the hearts of even the most downhearted with a hour of cuts from one of the unsung hero of New York’s 90s disco explosion Colleen "Cosmo" Murphy.

Tutored by two of the scenes most respected names in David Mancuso and François K, Colleen has literally done it all. Run a record label. Check. Tour the globe as a DJ. Check. Host her own radio show. Create an event brand. Check. Compile a DT podcast… check. And that’s not even the half of it. We’ve not even mentioned an illustrious studio career that saw her team up with the likes of like X-Press 2’s Ashley Beedle (as Darkstarr Diskotek), former Captain Beefheart guitarist Gary Lucas (as Wild Rumpus) and remix some of the most adventurous women in music, including Bat For Lashes, Sinead O’Connor and Planningtorock.

DTP410 - Cosmo - Datatransmission

Unless you've been hiding under your Grandmother’s electric blanket for the past few weeks, you may have noticed things are getting rather grey and chilly outside. Yes, as those gloomy folk on Game Of Thrones predicted winter has arrived and here at Data Transmission we've been on the hunt for the perfect mix to warm us up and drive away the blues. Helping us through those meteorologically dreary times has been a series of vocal laden efforts that already have us dreaming of laying on a beach somewhere warm where the waters are crystal clear and the only thing cold is the ice in our drinks.

Soundtracking such daydreams of warmer climes has been the sounds of Gothenburg's Little Dragon who quite frankly blew the office away with the unveiling of the video to their new single ‘Underbart’ earlier in the month. For a long time almost an industry codeword for having good musical taste recent years have seen the Gothenburg outfit achieve international acclaim with the likes of Pharrell Williams and OutKast joining DT as fans. So with a big set of dates coming up including a hotly anticipated performance at London’s Brixton Academy on November 27th and a slot at Thailand’s awesome looking Wonderfruit Festival (where we could make a daydreams of winter sunshine a reality) we thought now was the perfect time to invite Little Dragon to deliver the most extra special of podcasts and they’ve done just that. Packed Lunch returns for a special New Years' Eve event and this time we've teamed up with them at Data Transmission, this their 3rd party at Packed Lunch at the Winter Gardens in Milton Keynes, this time they are welcoming Roots For Bloom head honcho, Jamie Trench and Mark Jenkyns to help ring in the new year. 

We are delighted to invite back Jamie Trench to both Packed Lunch & Data Transmission, he needs little introduction and as a local Milton Keynes lad who played for the events previously we’re looking forward to seeing him work his magic on home turf. So to get you in the mood – or just brighten your day - we thought it was about time we had Jamie showcase his dexterity on the decks for the podcast. A sublime mixture of tech house, tribal beats and deeper tones, with subtle garage and techno influences it’s enough to cure even the sternest of post weekend hangovers. Check it out now!

We’re big fans of Vince Watson here at Data Transmission so when the inimitable Scotsman agreed to helm the latest edition of the DT podcast it’s fair to say we were more than a little excited. What would he play? Whilst probably best known for his techno output the Glaswegian veteran is just at home playing house, jazz or ambient numbers so just what avenue he’d lead us down was anybody’s guess. Whilst we won’t spoil the surprise (it’s up to you whether or not you want to have a gander at the tracklist) we will tell you it has certainly lived up to our lofty expectations.

Charged with delivering Ovum’s landmark 250th release in celebration of their 20th anniversary his De Ja Vu EP showcases why we’ve long thought of Vince as one of the most talented operators in the game today.  Christmas has come early this year…

Well apart from an over excited Data Transmission office a stonker of a podcast would be our answer as the two D&B dons have joined forces to provide this weeks exclusive mix for your listening pleasures.

It’s Kasra’s second appearance on our podcast series having previously wowed us with a solo outing back in 2010 and comes ahead of this years much anticipated #CriticalSound Christmas party which sees Kasra and co. return to London for a very special one off even on December 20.
