"The VIP rework of Benton and N-Type's original dancefloor smasher hits the listener even harder than expected. It is a cut that introduces momentum and distant metallic sounding reverberation before transforming into a gully riddim. A sweep clears the air with that all-familiar synthwork Benton still is famous for, a track lead by numerous variations in pitch and several modulation techniques that give texture to the simplistic halfstep percussion sitting up top. All elements sound in place, and are spaced out properly to give the powerful effect of the low end and harsh synth tactics. Momentum strikes before this cut ends; silence followed by a mystical flute that leads in the second drop… The rest is history. He’s personally responsible for its resounding success, ensuring its longevity whilst showcasing some of their finest producers.

And after eight years of pedestalling its most important breakthrough acts, Hatcha returns with an EP set to send shockwaves across the community. Diving head first into the murky, growling undertones Hatcha reigns supreme over, the producer demonstrates exactly why he’s king of the underground. DJ Hatcha - Bawl Out

Dubstep has always been a favourite of ours at In:flux and this past year we have been extremely lucky to find some great artists that have not only influenced the direction of the brand, but has seen our founders Tik&Borrow put their twist on the genre. After a conversation between Tik and Dr. Oscillator one afternoon, an idea was born to get a blend of artists old and new to the label to piece together what is now 'In:flux Free Dubstep Volume 1'.

Label regulars Pelikann, Dr. Oscillator, Hamdi and Tik&Borrow are in attendance plus welcome returns to fold for Ali McK & IYZ, Six Sunsets, Somah and Dystinkt. Then making debuts on the label are RUFUS!, Aztek, Dunman, Narks, Vibrant Audio & Beserkr, bringing some absolute fiyah to the table and showing that Dubstep is far from over - in fact this is the start of something special for us at In:flux!

Dunman - Give Me A Dub [FREE DOWNLOAD]

On the whole, 2019 was clearly a very important year for dubstep as a genre, with it seeing a pretty massive revival movement in the public eye. We have gone from a pretty scarce selection of producers and DJ’s being seen to push the sound to it becoming the dominant sound operating at 140BPM once again, so much so that we have started to hear the surrounding genres start to sound more and more steppers. 

What caused this revival? For us there is a clear link to the consistency shown by certain labels and producers around the globe, who have stuck to their guns with dubstep and in doing so have built of substantially powerful catalogues. One of the labels we are discussing in particular, is today’s guest to CubWatch: New World Audio, and their founder: DJ Squarewave.

He’s been In the game for a minute now, so for us to see him rise to the top of the pile alongside the close group of producers who work around him and the label (Sukh Knight, Shandy etc) is very exciting to see. 

We have therefore prepared a full label showcase for you all to enjoy, with the first of today’s goodies being an official premiere of Sukh Knight and Shandy’s latest collaboration: , which we have attached for you below via the official 3000 Blog SoundCloud, ahead of its official New World Audio release:

Being widely regarded as front runners of 140BPM based music in general, it’s always exciting to see these two goliath’s combine their perfectly interweaving compositional styles with fantastic results, as we firstly kick off with our title track ‘Certified’. This one is a rapturous piece of dubstep design, focusing on a minimalist introduction of drum punches and percussive syncopation. However, it takes just under 30 seconds for the carnage to commence as the breakdown leads us into a pair of lethal synthesizer patterns, retracting and writhing, causing a ruckus to ensue.
