In 2007, Sensu co-organised The Wee Chill at the Science Centre. 

An impressive host of local talent joined Masters At Work, Harri, Domenic, and The Bays creating a day and night for the ages. This promo mix by Iggie, was on repeat during the run-up to the event and for many months after. It remains one of our favourites from over the years. 

We are unsure if it was ever fully shared, so hope you enjoy it as we uncover some more gems from the archives.

Ahead of the Boiler Room & Ballantine's Scotch Whisky Stay True event in Edinburgh on June 4th, JD Twitch has turned out a retrospective set celebrating his years at the city's legendary Pure nightclub.

Taking place across four venues, the Stay True event will showcase the links between Scotland and Detroit through their respective techno scenes. As a stalwart of the Scottish scene - initially with Pure and as the founder of Glasgow party Optimo - we can't think of anyone better than JD Twitch to get us warmed up.

"It's hard to try to showcase what was played at Pure, which ran for exactly ten years, in a 30 minute mix but here's an attempt at what the early days of Pure might have sounded like," says Twitch. "I'm not particularly nostalgic but subconsciously possibly have a thing about the period from 1987 - 1992 as all the records I grabbed to go on the mix turn out to be from that period.  It was a time when the music was developing at a breakneck pace and literally each week would bring wild new sonic innovations. I can still vividly recall the incredible sense of anticipation and excitement I'd feel every week knowing I was going to get to play these then state of the art sounds on a massive sound system to a feverishly enthusiastic crowd.”

It's A Fine Line, Blackstrobe, Kill The DJ, Volga Select, Les Discques De La Mort and Amour, Acide; the list goes on for projects and labels Ivan Smagghe has been involved in over the years. A lover of records first and foremost, the London based Parisian has carved a career of eclecticism that's seen him often play with Andrew Weatherall. In more recent times, he's found himself working on music with Rupert Cross, an in-demand composer who counts Hollywood, the National Theatre and Kanye West as some of his past collaborators. Together, they've released a string of releases all over the course of 2017, with labels such as Huntley & Palmers and Vladimir Ivkovic's Offen releasing some of their standout work, the latter putting out their debut album MA back in March.

Although recorded chronologically before MA, Smagghe and Cross' second LP collaboration, Timothy Dalton came out on Monday on Idle Press. Described in the promo sheet as a 'spaced out opera by the Silver Apples', the LP features guitar work from Tim Felton, vocals from Andrea Balency and drums from Roman Turtev.  It's an ongoing partnership that's wonderfully touching upon multiple genres of electronic and rock music without singling out any particular one. We caught up with Ivan for a quick chat about his new project with Cross, Le Food in Brussels and record shopping in the eighties. His Truancy Volume, coming up at over an hour and eighteen minutes, is a tripped out amalgamation of records leaning towards the 'non-danceable'. An expert in this area, he's described Truancy Volume 191 as slow, with plenty of records being played at the wrong speed. Fans of his regular radio shows on NTS should find comfort in this one.

Italian producer and DJ, @giorgioluceri released a stream of records since 2011 mostly signed for Jamal Moss' Chicago-based imprint Mathematics Recordings but with other labels too as Compost Records, Macadam Mambo and Uzuri Recordings.
He collaborated with artists like Gene Hunt, Kai Alce, Jenifa Mayanja, Gregg Fore of Dream 2 Science and the legendary Gerald Donald from Drexciya.
In the last years he started releasing music with other monikers as well, such as Garofano Rosso, 6D22 and Palascia.
