Smile Recordings present a new rooster in their hen house: Jimi After, another one of Brussels’ own. He has released on Turbo, Freerange, Correspondant, and Throne Of Blood a.o., partly under the moniker Homerun.

Jimi After’s sound embodies the history of electronic music. There's the soundtrack of Bladerunner and arthouse electronics from Düsseldorf. You can hear Chicago, Detroit and the Balearics, New Beat and EBM, Hacienda and Paradise Garage, all in one homogeneous sound. That’s not what makes it so powerfully addictive though, it’s that it all feels so effortless, and most of all genuine. These are no tricks from a textbook, this is the real deal and that’s blatantly obvious.

Our Debut Transmission today is Acid Walk is a slow shugger and devious little fu**er that’ll blast right through walls of concrete and steel with a determination second to none.
