Where darknes and haze are ubiquitous, clowns have no intentions of making you laugh and performing artists uses their unique skills to scare the hell out of you. Have we mentioned about the freak display? So it's there also. The cotton candy is a sickly shade of green and the knife thrower doesn't miss. Some say that the most common experiences for people visiting are pain, fear and that premonition of someone always present behind their back. And only some can recount this as not everyone is lucky enough to leave the circus. Most of the people just stay there forever and becomes part of it. Will you join them? C'mon, it'll be fun! With DaveMetzo's „Circus” a subsidiary of recently started Electrocity label kicks off. Electrocity Limited will be home for hypnotic techno loops, through the unlimited ocean of the deep house, to all-present in the underground culture minimal sounds that makes you move.

David August may have said Hamburg is for lovers but these days we think Hamburg is for talent. From Solomun, Stimming and his Diynamic crew to Digitalism and Oliver Huntemann, the West German city has a long and storied history when it comes to electronic music. Perhaps our favourite act to come from this illustrious musical melting pot is that of Frederic Burger and Patrick Buck, better known to you and I by their collective moniker of Kaiserdisco.

Since hooking up back in 2008 the DJ and producer duo’s career has accelerated at an astonishing rate with Kaiserdisco quickly forging a fierce reputation in the studio as well as behind the decks. Establishing themselves as purveyors of an underground sound that encompasses minimal infused techno, deep house and groovy tech released on some of the scene's coolest labels.

The latest label to house their more than considerable talents is Coyu’s kitty loving Suara imprint for the appropriately named ‘Rex Cats’ EP which lands April 7th.  Now that’s only a few days away but we know that like us you’re an impatient lot and so to celebrate the release and get you lovely people in the mood in the weekend it’s our pleasure to present to you an exclusive sneak peak at the EPs lead track this afternoon. Entitled ‘Devon’ the track is classic Kaiserdisco as they make their debut on Suara in style. Dirty lo-fi drums, eerie atmospheric textures, warped vocal hits and a looped ‘I House You’ vocal sample inspired by the Jungle Brothers hip-house classic. Need we say more?

Manchester’s AJ Christou is back on Hot Creations with ‘Bang Bang’, his follow-up to 2023’s ‘Babaloop’ EP, and it’s a release that reinforces why he’s been in such high demand over recent years. With two original cuts and a charged remix from Italian duo ItaloBros, the package captures the depth, drive, and distinct groove that have defined AJ’s rise. Following up on his debut appearance on sister imprint Paradise Music last year alongside A-Trak, this latest release sees him step further into the spotlight on Jamie Jones’ flagship label. 

Title track ‘Bang Bang’ leads with crisp percussion, slinky grooves, and a hook that’s been igniting AJ’s sets worldwide. “‘Bang Bang has been a staple in my sets for well over a year. Happy to finally share it with the world,” he explains. On the flip, ‘EM District’ brings a deeper, hypnotic energy with trippy textures and rolling swing designed for locked-in late-night moments. Closing things out, ItaloBros mark their own return to the label and step in to rework the title track, turning the original into a hard-grooving, club-ready bomb that perfectly balances intensity with playful energy. 

Since his breakout on The Martinez Brothers’ Cuttin’ Headz label, AJ Christou has built a discography that spans Crosstown Rebels to Fool’s Gold Records, and has also established his own imprints, V-House Sound and Celesta Recordings. With global highlights from The Warehouse Project to Ibiza institutions in Amnesia, Hï, and Ushuaïa, he continues to shape the house, minimal, and techno landscape with a sound that’s his own: groove-driven, refined, and dynamic.

The new 'Alliances' project will see Slam co-producing with friends and peers from around the globe, beginning with Gary Beck, Pan-Pot & Italo Boyz. Other confirmed artists include Joris Voorn, Laurent Garnier, Paul Ritch, Len Faki & Mihalis Safras.

PARA014 sees Slam embark on their first 'Alliances' project with fellow Glaswegian, Gary Beck. As two linchpins of techno – the product has a lot to live up to. The result of this collaboration is a controlled blend of drive and groove primed to work the dancefloor.

The opening track on the EP, and the series, is the uncompromising 'Verto'. Ravey synth-lines and snares rolls flow in liquid swells of suspense and tension as the track pushes forward in its stripped and organic form.

The AA-side, 'South' oozes groove and restraint, albeit at a slightly slower pace. The 'South' bassline retains the drive, and is steady and rolling, flowing back and forth throughout the duration. Hovering synths and a spine-chilling vocal are utilised at the breaks allowing the track motion and lucidity.

This first in 'Alliances' series sets the bar high, with a no-nonsense approach to the dancefloor.
