What if we told you that you could enjoy the sound of tomorrow today, would you be interested? Forgive for getting all Morpheus on you - that's the black guy from The Matrix for all you teeny boppers out there - but we're a little bit excited here at Data Transmission HQ and Italian producer Lehar's latest production, Number One Hero,  is to blame. 

Making his debut on Diynamic’s sister label 2DIY4, we've been unable to get his new single - or its two accompanying remixes - off our office playlist since it arrived in our bulging inbox last month and so set about securing one of the record's three incarnations for exclusive premiere. 

Unfortunately for us, we were given the opportunity to have our pick of the litter. Much head scratching then ensued and after multiple shouting matches and a narrowly won vote, the ayes had it and we decided that Cologne producer Peter Pardeike's rework was ever so slightly more our cup of tea. That's not to say we don't love Engrave LTD boss Musumeci's version, we do, and with both are set to pick up heavy play in a club near you soon, we're sure you will too. Lehar - Number One Hero (Peter Pardeike Remix)

Jonas Rathsman announces his latest offering with cutting-edge innovators Crosstown Rebels. ‘Complex’ featuring Josef Salvat is released on 10th June 2016.

This is a tech-blues odyssey, an introverts primal scream, where complex emotions and urges are vented and perfectly complemented by Rathsman’s explorations into the dark corners of electronic music. Enjoy the journey. With the release only in the hands of a select few tastemaker DJs, ‘Complex’ has been making waves at the recent Miami Winter Music Conference, “receiving hands in the air welcomes and even a sit down ovation” according to label boss Damian Lazarus. ‘Complex’ is set to be the first underground anthem of 2016.

The release comes with two carefully chosen remixes. First up is Swiss techno stalwart Deetron, who steers the song into percussive acid oblivion while Serge Devant offers up his deep house expertise for a dramatic and driving offbeat cut.

With his instantly recognisable sound, Jonas has found praise the world over for his keen ear and transcendent sets, which have captivated listeners on both the international club and festival scenes.

Following his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, Rathsman continues to showcase his technical capabilities and impressive track selection with his bi-monthly mix series ‘ELEMENTS’, now on its fourth instalment.

“The first This Never Happened event in San Francisco this June was hands down my favorite show I've ever done. To see so many of you embrace the concept, put your phones away and get lost in the experience was something truly, truly special. Before that show, my team and I were super anxious about whether we could pull such an event off. Doing our first TNH show in San Francisco, possibly the most tech-hip and phone-happy city in the US, seemed pretty risky. But with the whole team pushing towards the same goal, it all worked perfectly - everything was even better than we had hoped. Not only did 99% of people keep their phones in their pockets the entire night (don't worry, we dealt with the other 1% ;)), everyone also had a noticeably better time at the show. I've never seen so many smiling faces, so many people meeting each other for the first time while dancing and bonding over a shared love and common taste in music - the actual beginning of a community was unfolding in front of our eyes. It was incredible. That show just reinforced even more what we believe in and the idea that what we're doing is something that the music community actually wants and needs.
For those reasons, we have decided to take This Never Happened on tour across North America. Each show will have an identical format. I’m playing extended sets only. Our core values remain the same. The dancefloor is a phone- and photo-free space. Leave the real world behind and come get lost in the music with us.

Based in Hamburg, Doctor Dru hits up a remix of Sailor & I x Eekkoo, receiving strong support from Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Adriatique, Solomun, Jon Monkmon, Nick Warren, and many more.

Alongside his multi-layered history DJing, Doctor Dru works as a drummer, runs his own label, collaborates with other acts such as Adana Twins, and of course, produces his own emotive, wistful signature tracks – such as his release off Exploited’s ‘Black Jukebox 03’ compilation. He’s hit up other remixes on OFF, JEUDI Records and Stil vor Talent, and followed those up with his “Proper Lane” EP and a timeless remix of Claptone’s huge hit “No Eyes”.

In terms of performances, he has appeared at Brazil’s Warung, Destino and Ushuaia (Ibiza), Watergate (Berlin), Revolver Club (Melbourne), Loveland Festival (Amsterdam) and a many more. While being busy with touring and tune tinkering, Dru also cultivated his own label JEUDI Records, which was founded with his mates Davidé and Takeiteasy. Based on a tightly-knit family ethos Jeudi Records gives Doctor Dru a platform where he is able to truly express his love of music and to A&R new talent from around the globe.

The 'Letters' remix package drops on Big Beat August 5th and will also tap Kidnap Kid, NTFO and Jeremy Olander for additional remixes.

Premiere: Sailor & I x Eekkoo – LETTERS (Lower Case) (Doctor Dru Remix)

Mark Knight’s latest outing on Toolroom Records is a timeless, feel-good slice of musical hedonism that harks back to those glorious days when house was house, and nothing more.

These days, the word ‘house’ is more often than not accompanied by a qualifier: is it ‘tech’, ‘deep’, ‘future’ or one of another dozen or so sub-genres that seek to further categorize a style of music that frankly could do without it. Step forward Mark Knight to deliver ‘Yebisah’: a record that is HOUSE, pure and simple, perfectly timed to put a smile on the faces of thousands of clubbers all around the world, not least of all in Ibiza.

"Back in the day, Ibiza was about house, not tech House, techno, minimal or bass music” says Mark. “That’s why people used to congregate there. I just wanted to write a solid, uplifting house record that DJs could play peak time or at the end of their set. Ibiza has been instrumental in my DJing career and as an artist and this record is an ode to the most magical island on the planet. Fideles and Kellerkind cross paths into a split EP consisting of six original tracks showcasing their individual yet complemental production styles.

Haptic’s murmuring vocals are at the center of Vitamins, a playful exploration of fluid atmospherics. A clanging bassline provides the backdrop for whirlwinding synths, as the vocals build up an enveloping, dance-inducing tension. Wave Echoes kicks in lively from the get go: a relentless, steady percussion tied into a wandering baseline are the constant mainstays. The melody slowly develops as a fuzzy wandering pad adds another dimension, equally spacious as it is heavy.

Carving light with synth sweeps and spacious reverb, Illumino takes shape as a deep tech introspection. Accented with whirring bits and maintaining an elated undertone, it effectively embodies the ever-ascending, never-releasing groove that’s perfect for peak time hours.

Kellerkind steps up to the plate with Subzero, a slice of cavernous dub tech. Breathy vocals and sparse ethereal elements set a dreamy mood. Underlined by smooth piano chords, the vocal develops into a full fledged hymn that is both emotive and mesmerising. For his second take, the Swiss producer embarks on a techno tinged journey. Opting for distorted synths and a stomping bassline, he aptly crafts a near dungeon-like atmosphere only sweetened by a lush female vocal. Teaming up with Sven, they offer up Shakti Pan, a meeting point between tribal infused percussion and deep-set riffs. Hollowed out drums and bells chimes touch on chorus vocals and manage to create a highly immersive experience, rounding off the release on an uplifting note.

Jan Dalvík is a part of the electronic sector as a producer and sound-designer for 25 years now. He successfully collaborated with several artists, but today it's time for his very first release in his own name. His "Basar"-EP is currently released by WHATIPLAY. 
Jan Dalvík is well-known for analog sound-design, his music impresses by groovy and impulsive beats. Next to that the tracks "Basar" and "Napur" reveal ethnical influence, which serves to convert his visual travel impressions into music.
