Here at Data Transmission we’re firm believers that if you want something you should do you utmost to go out and get it. Thus when we made Marc Miroir’s ‘Let Me Go’  our single of the week we knew we had to go all out to secure it as a premiere and share it with you lovely people.

When it comes to making top-quality house music of a genuinely interesting and far-from-novelty persuasion, few of those in the contemporary game can hold a candle to Paso Music boss, Marc Miroir. It’s perhaps no coincidence, therefore, that his latest track exudes even more charming vibes. This time, it’s a collaboration with Elif Bicer that’s caught our attention. Bicer, of course, is a name who you might recognize from her work at Ostgut Ton (where she’s worked with Steffi among others), and the Let Me Go EP, we’re glad to report, is just as enticing.  

And in spite of the release featuring just the one original, there’s more than enough here to make one sit up and take notice. Starting off an immediately catchy loop, the track soon morphs into a steady and multilayered effort that packs more than enough punch into its 6-or-so minutes. Simple but most definitely effective, it’s full of twists and turns aplenty, and draws on the producer’s rich understanding of the dancefloor throughout. Sure to be a hit on dancefloors in Germany, London and Tokyo alike, it might just be the best house track we’ve heard in some time. As a bonus, it also comes with a classy dub too for those of you yearning for a vaguely different interpretation that keeps hold of the vocal.

He locks horns with up and coming maestro George Smeddles here for a 2 tracker that ticks all the boxes for a solid underground cut. The B-side 'Charger' slows things down a little and adds some sexy, bumpy grooves to proceedings making this a perfect, and flawlessly produced EP.

American producer Kevin Knapp delivers his energetic house cut ‘Survivor’ with a remix from DJ Deeon on Hottrax this December. 

Kevin Knapp’s consistent delivery of high quality, hip-hop influenced house music has seen releases on esteemed labels including Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations and VIVa MUSiC. Meanwhile, remixer DJ Deeon has grown from humble beginnings, selling DJ Mixtapes in Chicago parking lots, to playing a pivotal role in pioneering label Dance Mania. Kevin Knapp continues to cement his reputation within the house music scene with ‘Survivor’ on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax. 

‘Survivor’ delivers a hypnotic vocal hook and dubbed out transitions which are underpinned by sharp percussion and a pulsating low-end before Chicago-based DJ Deeon’s remix delivers warped samples from the original on top of a crunchy percussive composition, distorted synthesizer stabs and a melodic bass hook to close the release. Jamie Jones launches his new subsidiary label of Hot Creations, HOTTRAX with a three track EP of upfront dance floor business. The label will be dedicated to a more underground dance floor orientated aesthetic, only for the headstrong!

This three track features phenomenal 'Changes'. Jamie has championed it all summer and as soon as you hear it you'll realize why. It's a heady hypnotic brew of oscillator-funk and ghetto-groove, arpeggiating synths bubble hypnotically under the rising ebb and flow of the melody as infectious groove drives you on.. the truth is we are all going through changes!

On the flip and Jamie jacks the groove on the 'Road To The Studio'. Incessant chanting and looped vocals are cleverly layered upon each other creating a impending sense of explosive anticipation as the rhythm effortlessly builds to maximum effect. Finally, the irresistibly charming 'No Rush' plays upon retro garage feel while the minor keys serve to create a sense eeriness on the floor. A great closure to a superb three track EP, and what a way to kick off the new label in style. Watch out for HOTTRAX releases in 2013.
