East-London's Riva Starr joins Defected's illustrious list of House Masters as he continues to establish himself as one of the world's top DJs and producers. Growing up surrounded by the rich musical culture of Southern Italy, Starr's influences come from all over; the sounds of Africa, Greece, Spain and the Balkans are ever-present within his revered house releases. As Warriors celebrates its fifth season at Sankeys Ibiza, residents Mark Jenkyns and Leftwing & Kody mix a double album composed of entirely exclusive tracks.

Throughout the 2016 season residents Mark Jenkyns and Leftwing & Kody will be regular fixtures at the events, which is why VIVa have tapped them up to craft two mixes exemplary of Warriors’ distinct musical aesthetic.  Turning heads ever since his debut on Hot Creations four years ago, Mark Jenkyns has since followed up with appearances on Rinse, Dogmatik, Leftroom, Resonance and Crosstown Rebels, not to mention collaborating with Inxec as 12 Stories with a release on VIVa MUSiC last year.

Jenkyns’ mix initiates with a percussive production from Leftroom founder Matt Tolfrey before erupting into lively material from names such as Resonance Records founder Max Chapman, Kreature, Tom Budden and including his own cut which is our Debut Transmission today ‘Sidewinder’ and finishing on a crunchy track from Josh Butler.

Returning to Sundays at the Playa D’en Bossa club, the party series recently announced their summer lineups spanning the likes of Groove Armada, Hot Since 82, Eats Everything, Skream, Huxley and VIVa founder Steve Lawler. Throughout the 2016 season residents Mark Jenkyns and Leftwing & Kody will be regular fixtures at the events, which is why VIVa have tapped them up to craft two mixes exemplary of Warriors’ distinct musical aesthetic.

Summer is coming to an end but elrow music doesn’t stop its activity. About to finish another frantic season in Ibiza, we’re proud to present another big debut single, remixed by a high rolling artist. The US-born, UK-based artist delivers this ‘History of Groove’, consisting in one original track and its remix, by the one and only Technasia. ‘History Of Groove (Original Mix)’ is a carnivalesque, well structured, steady and soulful track, with many elements aligning together nicely to create this transient yet great track for any moment on the floor. Its wooden percussion, claps and distant vocals make this one a truly outstanding creation, that surely will make the rounds in dancefloors all over the world. Then, we have Technasia’s remix, a more techier affair with a vibe of its own, where Charles Siegling turns the original into a complete different beast, more dancefloor oriented and ready to tear up some dancing shoes.
