There's not much we feel we need to say about Flashmob. The Milan duo's rise over the four years is testament enough to their talent as producers and DJs; from smash hits for Get Physical and Defected, to remixes on VIVa, FFRR and DFTD, and inclusion on numerous compilations.

The pair, formed of Danny and Alessandro, have progressed at lightning speed, setting up their own Flashmob label, and even a sub-label, Flashmob Ltd. The head honchos have released through both imprints already this year, plus they've only gone and dropped a hugely successful EP on Objektivity - there's just no stopping these guys!

You can catch Flashmob playing at London's biggest Sunday party, ABODE, tomorrow (26th April) at Studio 338. The duo will be joined by all the ABODE regulars, including Longplay, Taylor and ANoR. Chances are that if you’ve already encountered Pete Dafeet’s work, then you already speak highly of his vast repertoire of deep house, a genre he seems to have an affiliation with like few others. To give the producer his dues, however, Dafeet’s sound is far from the generic and formulaic sound that has often been a burden on the genre in recent times and on the contrary, his is a way of working in the studio that sees his music is consistently deliver fresh, emotion drenched vibes. On that basis, his latest outing for his own Lost My Dog imprint label is another real treat as we gear up for his long awaited debut album 'The Root, The Soul' which drops in June.

Titled 'Wife', the new single was originally written back in 2013 in the run up to Pete's wedding and holds a special place in the producer's heart as he explains: "I recorded 'Wife' in the run up to my wedding in 2013. It’s a feel-good anthem and will forever remind me of a blissful, carefree Summer. The release has been a long time coming but it’s great to finally get it out there!"

Madloch's Crossfade Sounds is pleased to welcome back Oldschool Dubtechno .Producer for their second appearance on the label, presenting the Book of Palaces EP. The project is the creative alliance of Siberian brothers Alexander Kotlov (X_FR) and ENERCUBE, co-founders of the influential PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB label and podcast channel. With a shared vision rooted in the landscapes of their homeland, the duo has cultivated a sound that fuses rugged atmospheres with meditative depth, embodying the philosophy of contemporary dub techno while retaining a timeless old-school spirit.

Following their 2024 debut Shadow Astrology EP, Oldschool Dubtechno .Producer now unveils four new originals, each carrying their signature balance of weight and subtlety. Opening with Epiphysis Cerebri and Prince of Angels, the duo establishes a framework of immersive grooves and shadowy textures, before venturing into Rahatiel Stargate, a track marked by expansive layers and hypnotic drift. Closing piece Sefer Hekhalot encapsulates the essence of the release, offering a spacious, contemplative journey that lingers long after its final tones fade.

With Book of Palaces, Oldschool Dubtechno .Producer continues to expand their narrative within the Crossfade catalogue, reaffirming their role as architects of the Siberian dub techno sound while offering a release that resonates equally on introspective and club-focused stages.

Oldschool Dubtechno .Producer - Prince of Angels [Crossfade Sounds]

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal 2005 album Staring Into Space, Glaswegian duo Silicone Soul present a Darkroom Dubs reissue featuring two pivotal remixes that helped define the album’s legacy. 

Leading the charge is Ewan Pearson’s electrifying remix of The Poisoner’s Diary - a masterclass in sonic transformation. Pearson channels raw new wave urgency into the original, fusing its proto-dark disco leanings with climactic synth flourishes and machine-gun claps. The result marked a creative breakthrough for Pearson and added a defining edge to Silicone Soul’s catalogue, foreshadowing the darker aesthetic that would come to shape European dancefloors.

The vocal version adds another layer of intensity with the haunting delivery of Stuart Gray (from Glasgow indie band Viva Stereo). His stark post-punk refrains narrate a chilling gothic tale of emotional unravelling, an allegory for love’s collapse.

Adding further weight to this anniversary package, Berlin’s Dirt Crew deliver a powerful rework of Inferno. Amplifying the original's deep dub foundations, they lay down an irresistible Italo-disco bassline while framing the timeless toast, 'What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul?’ This is a remix that balances spiritual gravitas with dancefloor intensity, a reminder of Dirt Crew’s signature touch during their own breakthrough years.

These remixes have been lovingly remastered by Conor Dalton (Glowcast Audio) from the original DATs, giving DJs, collectors, and new listeners a fresh chance to experience two standout reinterpretations from the Silicone Soul archive. Twenty years on, they remain as vital as ever.

Active for over three decades, Italian/UK DJ, producer, singer, and Fine Human Records label owner Dino Lenny has released on R&S, Diynamic, Innervisions, and Bedrock, while working with artists such as Underworld, Missy Elliott, Wu-Tang Clan, and Madonna on remixes and collaborations. 'As If By Magic' is Michael Reinboth’s third release under his real name, produced with Jan Krause (Beanfield), and with a cover image by Ena Oppenheimer. A vibrant mid-tempo delight, the drums are played by Peter Gall, whose album “Love Avatar” was named “Best Jazz Album of 2024” by the German Jazz Awards. On keyboards is Roberto Di Gioia, mastermind of Web Web and Marsmobil. The package comes complete with an atmospheric remix from Moodorama, riding high on a wave of recent remixes for Jazzanova, Charles Petersohn, Beatkozina, and Inkswel.

There’s a particular alchemy that happens when a band and producer find themselves on the same wavelength – not through careful planning, but through the natural convergence of shared musical worlds. Jakarta’s Strange Fruit and electronic artist Jonathan Kusuma have arrived at exactly that point with the Hypnodubmix of “Iridescent,” the first glimpse of the band’s forthcoming Drips EP.

Strange Fruit has always inhabited dual territories. While their shoegaze-leaning live sound draws from dreamy, guitar-driven atmospheres, members Baldi Calvianca and Irza Aryadiaz have deep roots in electronic music – producing, DJing, and moving through the same underground circuits as Kusuma himself. This isn’t a band reaching outside of their comfort zone for a remix; it’s a collaboration between kindred spirits who’ve been orbiting the same musical universe all along.

With releases on Cocktail d’Amore, Correspondant, and Minh, Kusuma strips “Iridescent” back to its essence and rebuilds it as something altogether more hypnotic. Pulsing basslines, dub-driven rhythms, and spectral traces of the vocals drifting through the haze. It’s patient, immersive, and designed for those late-night moments when the dancefloor becomes a meditation.
