Sydney’s own Elroy is turning up the thermostat with his debut on Lee Foss’ iconic Repopulate Mars. The Elroy Hot EP is a three-track dancefloor weapon, and we’ve got the title cut ‘Hot’ on lock.

Elroy’s been making waves in the Aussie scene with his stripped-back, glitch-heavy tech house sound, winning support from big-hitters like Marco Carola, Patrick Topping, and Jamie Jones. From sweaty warehouse sessions in Sydney to high-energy sets at UNVRSE for Catch & Release, the guy knows how to work a room.

‘Hot’ is pure after-hours mischief, driven by a chunky low end, tight percussion, and vocal chops that land right in the sweet spot. It’s got that late-night bounce built for basements and rooftop sunrises alike. The rest of the Elroy Hot EP keeps the pressure high with ‘Shakin’ delivering warped synth lines and slick drum work, while ‘Feel The Bass’ dips into UKG-inspired grooves that tunnel deep into the mix.

The 3rd Generation band was formed in the late 70's led by ‘Rockson’, who was a soldier at the time. The band recorded only six tracks, all for Essiebons, including the two featured here – 'Because of Money' and 'Obi Ye Saa Wui'.

Our man Gary Johnson bought a 7” from a dealer in New York on digging trip some years ago. He knew ‘Because of Money’, and was delighted to find that the B side was just as strong. 

‘Because of Money’ was originally released on Essiebons ‎– EB 398 7” and was featured on Soundway’s excellent ‘Ghana Soundz’ compilation. The record is extremely rare – yet to make an appearance on either Discogs or even Popsike.

3rd Generation Band – Because Of Money

It’s been a very quick journey rising through the ranks for Sieg Motmans AKA Siege. Born and bred in Belgium, it was from a very early age that Siege’s eyes opened to the world of Dance. As every young Dance music fan does he gathered his life savings and invested in a set of turntables.

Since his ’Things You Do’ release on Toolrooms, Zero Three Recordings, Siege has remixed the like of Rudimental, Charlie XCX and Romanthony. His ‘Crunk’ project, released on the ever impressive Azuli Recordings, has chalked up a Beatport top 10, spending 5 weeks in the House Chart top 10. This was followed closely by his debt on Junior Sanchez’ label Brobot with Annie Mac playing for 3 consecutive shows on the BBC. Siege’s latest release ‘Play Me’, is out now on BBC Radio One tastemaker Danny Howard’s label Nothing Else Matters, with support from Adam Beyer, Jamie Jones, and Jey Kurmis to name a few.

There’s plenty more to come in 2016 with high profile remixes and releases already confirmed with FFRR, Glasgow underground and many more.
