Even if we might not be able to pinpoint exactly where that is.

It was in 2014 when a mutual friend introduced me to Victor Ruiz while he was staying here in Berlin. I invited Victor to my studio where we had a fantastic session, playing our music to each other, listening to stuff we like and simply talkin and connecting. Since then, we became close friends as well as starting to work together. Victor has released two outstanding EPs on Electric Ballroom by now. This summer we met again and recorded three tracks. The result is our first joint EP, of which I am very proud. (Thomas Schumacher, November 2015)

Benny Rodrigues returns to Dutch label Balans Records under his ROD alias in January, with his 4-track Balans EP.

Whilst each of the tracks have a hypnotic quality about them, it's the bubbling acid and heady pulse of 'Lego' we share with you today. Mysterious and entrancing, the track offers five-and-a-half minutes of unadulterated techno.

The EP continues an impressive run by Balans, following weighty efforts by Mike Parker and Staffan Linzatti. Label boss Darko Esser is also the mind behind Wolfskuil Records - a more varied label genre-wise, where his "own taste is the red tape" - and Wolfskuil Ltd - the "more experimental" wing.

<p>The Reactivitz team up with Marck D for a threefold chrome-plated offering. The title track boasts streamlined electronics and cavernous effects combining over a rocksteady rhythm section, as otherworldly stabs attack from above. &#8220;The Room&#8221; goes for a more subliminal approach which unfolds to reveal hyperactive chords and old-school hi hats. Closing up with &#8220;Recall&#8221; we are introduced to bubbling sub bass, familiar, looped-out vocal snippets and an overall spacious vibe.</p>

Up next on Arcing Seas is Magna Pia with his second EP after his 2016 debut “Incantations” on Counterchange. Behind the alias is Hüseyin Evirgen, one half of Cassegrain.

ARCS-05 has a clear focus of providing combative dance floor trips, unorthodox sonic moods with subtle 90s techno references. The EP’s track titles “Artemisia”, “Semiramis” and “Akasha” pay tribute to three mighty ancient heroines of very different origins. Consequently, Magna Pia continues his interest in combining techno tracks with archaic symbolism.

Diasiva provide us with #007 in our podcast series, an all Diasiva playlist that includes tracks spanning their 7 year discography + a collection of unreleased material.

Produced in a symbiosis of perfectly unaligned and uncalibrated modular synthesis, “Thirst” is Diasiva pushing current DSP technology to its edges, their sound is informed by a weekly meeting of sonic experimentation and exploration in their Neukölln studio, drawing inspiration from the detritus of West Berlin. “Thirst” represents the ongoing evolution of Diasiva from sledge-hammer logic into expression in motion, welding IDM & deconstructed breaks to pure sonic abstraction, embracing visions of a brighter future yet leading curious eyes toward the ever present darkness, holding the hand of the likeminded, marching together toward the abyss.

Diasiva are Monolog and Swarm Intelligence, formed in 2011 for the first edition of Burn The Machine Festival in Subland, Berlin, playing numerous live sets around Berlin after this, including the following Burn the Machine. In 2016, they released their debut LP “Doublefade” on the seminal Ohm Resistance label, later that year, they released “Sabo” on Monolog & Subtrakt imprint, 2017 saw their Station 1805 EP released on Acroplane. The duo now returns for their debut EP on Instruments of Discipline.

signing the number 19 on the catalogue. 
Blix builds his Energy States in the Vacuum EP
on a choir of drones, arranging their voices in a multitude of dephased layers in order to create a sort of robotic melody. 
Intensity rises to an almost delusional state with the adrenaline power of the kick-drum. 
The result is a solid 2-track EP of hypnotic, racing techno -- not for the faint of heart.
