Tech House Unleashed Vol 10 with Guest Mix by Haus Arrest

Teramo native Ben Kim returns to Defected with a remix of the London label favourite, ‘Freak Like Me’ by Lee Walker vs. DJ Deeon. Since his Beatport chart-topping rework of Jefferson Airplane’s ‘Somebody To Love’ in 2021, Ben Kim has become one of the tech-house scene’s most promising artists, with releases across tastemaker imprints Nervous, Kaluki and Club Sweat. Ben Kim now returns to the London label with a remix of the Defected classic ‘Freak Like Me’; the 2016 release began as an edit by UK producer Lee Walker, who reworked DJ Deeon’s Dance Mania OG from the 90s. Lee’s version gave the raw vocal a deep, rolling groove, stripping it down to turn it into a major dancefloor weapon which received remixes and major support from artists like Jamie Jones and Carl Cox. Already supported by the likes of Marco Carola, Michael Bibi and The Martinez Brothers, Ben Kim adds his flair to ‘Freak Like Me’ with a remix that arrives just in time for the summer festival season - its deep, alluring sound promising to fill dancefloors for years to come.

Märked welcomes INTERFERON - undoubtedly underrated wizard from the States bringing that effective well executed techno driving an ominous sinister vibe. Its tight groove directed by several crunchy scrapes alternated with cleverly forward-driving placed hits retain pressure throughout this crystal clear cut. Second on track is newly formed Sicillian techno outfit N.A.A.F.I. contributing the percussive goods showcasing their cultural heritage through characteristic accents of distorted drums. On the contrary whereas 'Lekker’ has that powerful hypnotic tribe feel, Hidden Rooms packs an angry acid freight train pursuing a dark intrigue through accelerating industrial undertones. Followed by a percussive drum work-out, Anthro continues to build his strong signature sound. Clear cut techno accompanied by an old school Thunderdome vocal where the experimental-oriented progress of the plot will further on develop into something more unusual. Finishing off with a vocal guided silence before the storm as Falhaber builds his break into a crisis environment of pulverizing electronic stereo information.

Our Debut Transmission this morning ‘Bones’, marks Roland Leesker’s second release on Get Physical Music. Last year’s ‘My Warehouse’ absolutely killed dancefloors all across the globe, and we suspect this one will follow suit.

Again produced elbow to elbow with Philipp Maier aka Santé, Roland takes a devastatingly effective approach to house music, slowly bringing the energy to a boil and continuing full steam ahead. ‘Bones’ has a thick low end, a gritty vibe and massive peak time potential. Jazzuelle restrains the bass and produces a tribal deep house remix with a very modern electronic approach, a stark contrast to Quenum’s dark industrial remix. Across these three distinct versions, ‘Bones’ offers something for everyone.
