Sounds of the Dusty Rhino, Episode 19: DJ Zach Moore's set from the Dusty Rhino Pre-Burn Extravaganza on the main stage at Mighty in San Francisco on August 2nd, 2014.

Zach: "I remember the days, not too long ago, when the Dusty Rhino used to pack the basement at Monarch and now there are lines running all the way down the street from the entrances of much larger venues like Mighty and Public Works to get into their parties. Yes, the Rhino is all grows up now and as they've grown the organizers have remained true to their roots and loyal to the people that have helped get the camp to where it is today, which I very much appreciate. I've been featuring a lot of Florida breaks on my podcast, The Armory, lately and you can certainly hear that influence in this set which I played in front of a rabid crowd in the main room at the Rhino's Pre-Burn at Mighty on August 2nd. Ellissentials musical career started as a young pianist at 10 years old. Always enjoying electronic music in video games, and growing up with such movies as "Breakin'" he's really grown to love the genres of Breakbeat, House, Techno and other genre gaps in between. The name Ellissentials utilizes a combination of the artist’s last name, Ellis, and the word 'essentials.'

Leveraging his +15 years of DJing, Ellissentials has produced many unofficial album releases over the years and is looking to continue pursuing musical endeavors. Reaching the pinnacle of previously set goals, Kris accomplished his dream of distributing his productions/mixes to the masses. Exploiting the intricacies of Ableton Live in combination with various hardware and software over the years, Ellis feels as though future productions will inspire his listeners to dance and get lost in the music. Recognizing the value music has had in his life, he is pushed to use his creativity to help impact others.

What a great B.O.C. this year! Every inch of this party rocked. It was one of the best yet and I have played all but one. Spreading my new engagement announcement, working Silent Disco, solid Dj sets everywhere, visiting with old friends and new party people made my BOC. The two puzzling parts were that some of the breakers on the generator mysteriously got flipped off around 7am and the advertising for another New Years day party (on our porto potties!). - Mancub

Mancub Live from Breakfast of Champions 2012

Basically Tayo is a legend when it comes to the breakbeat scene.....

After paying his warm up dues as a drum and bass DJ alongside Fabio, Grooverider and Peshay, Tayo set up Friction with fellow members of the breakbeat elite, Adam Freeland and Rennie Pilgrem and watched the club and it’s residents become a focal point for the UK breakbeat sound.

With other residencies back in the day at Fabric, Bugged Out! and Big Beat Boutique to name a few and various appearances on the Kiss FM Breakbeat show Tayo made a name for himself as a DJ playing along side the likes of Carl Cox, Layo & Bushwacka, Hybrid, Lee Burridge and Craig Richards as well as the endless people he met while on his travels around the world.

After a 2 month stint in Australia playing various clubs and festivals Tayo put together the exclusive mix for Triple J Radio back in January 2004.

This set pays tribute to the big electric Saturday nights into chill Sunday mornings. When companies like Dose, Syrous, Destiny & BetterDays ruled the illegal warehouses and could command gatherings in the thousands. It was pleasure to experience these events as the DJ. This was close to the end of the big rave in Toronto and as this mix represents, the end of Chemical Beats.
