Alright groove lovers, time to move. 

UK producer Lee Drift steps up with his latest cut ‘Luv2Dance’, and it’s pure, feel-good house at its finest. Think sun-soaked energy, tight percussion, and that irresistible swing that makes you close your eyes and lose it for a bit.

Piem - Disco Mordisco (Daniel Steinberg Remix) [HouseU]

The now well established and widely respected Will & Ink label hits release number eight with a debut collaborative effort from Yaleesa Hall and Malin Genie. They serve up three tracks having both released individually on this label before now, and while Yaleesa Hall is still someone we know very little about, Malin Genie is the producer who co-runs the Oscillate label, is based in Amsterdam and Paris and works with Lazare Hoche and Samuel Andre Madsen as Mandar. 

'First Lucas' is a tough, abstract kicker with industrial sound design and weird synths the only accompaniment to a monstrous, earth moving kick drum. Truly hypnotic and all consuming it is followed by a brief bit of dark interlude music before 'Second Lucas' pairs ghoulish sounds with well swung wood block hits and watery pads. It is a forceful groove full of occult atmosphere and lastly 'Third Lucas' is again about solid kick drums and freaky sound design. Here squelchy synths and frazzled lines all dart about as hunched kicks stomp out a macho groove below. This is perfect warehouse music once again from the Will & Ink label.

Since its debut release in September 2014, Liar's Tessier-Ashpool Recordings has stuck to a strict doctrine of 'machine music', offering sonic science-fiction from an far-reaching array of underground artists. Yet another new recruit, Savvas Kattamis - aka Transporon - closes out 2015 for the label with a 4-track EP of mind-bending techno and intergalactic electronica.

Our personal favourite, 'Inhalor' is perhaps the most danceable track on the record, but that's not to say it doesn't compete with the others on an experimental level. Kattamis presents submerged bass and crushed beats, shattered under their own immense weight. Countering this darkness, a cloud of tinkling atmospherics and sweeping vocals creates an absorbing artificial reality.

Catalan home brand Hivern Discs has been doing commendable things since its conception – courtesy of none other than John Talabot – in 2008. Hivern Discs's library of releases spans dance music comprehensively, having nurtured releases from Mr. Talabot himself, as well as Roman Flügel, Talaboman (Talabot and Boman), Pional, Teengirl Fantasy and more.

The label now preps its first venture into the new year, with a release from Luxembourgian producer, Cleveland. The Atlas EP marks his Hivern debut, with the title track and EP closer ranking as our top. Cleveland sustains an "overall dreamy feel without losing its dancefloor focus" throughout, including the arpeggiated pads of "Atlas". If you've seen Talabot play of late, chances are you've heard this one already.
