After Liverpool was awarded UNESCO world Heritage City of Music status, the council and LIMF (Liverpool International Music Festival) turned to local lad Yousef to develop and curate an EP that connects Liverpool with other musically buoyant global cities including the musical cultures of Mexico City, Frankfurt and Liverpool.

Collaborating with Hector, Reboot and Lewis Boardman the ‘Three Cities’ EP is the perfect connection of different styles and influences that are integral to each cities dance music culture.  We premiere 'Mexico City' which he collaborated with Hector on, check it out below.

It may not come as big news for you, but we at Deeperfect still feel the urge to emphasize the amazing developments in the label's sound during 2016. A big contribution to these developments belongs to Leonardo Gonnelli who has brought the label to a whole new dimension with his new "Whaa" ep: a three tracker release that reveals the dark side of Deeperfect and that transcends the definitions of Tech House and Techno. With two of the three tracks reworked by German myth Mathias Kaden, "Whaa" is an energetic, disturbing creation that stretches out tension from the first chord to the last sample. It is loaded with punchy drums and a careful application of vocal and instrumental elements that all together give it a gloomy, yet motivating drive. "Whaa" is a three tracker peak time jewel, and no crown is complete without it.

The next Yoshitoshi Classic is here and it’s an iconic one - Dino Lenny’s “I Feel Stereo.”  Anyone on the scene in 2001, when this monster tune was originally released, remembers its pulsing rhythms and ear-catching vocal hook.  Seventeen years later, “I Feel Stereo” is back with three remixes from some of the finest artists around.

First up, Steve Lawler (working here as Lawler) has crafted a badass, bassline-driven house track that pummels with all the energy of the original.  Steve continues his reign as as key innovator in dance music, modernizing this classic with unquestionable finesse.

The Red Axes boys deliver their left-field brand of house with a variety of distorted arpeggio riffs, futuristic chimes, and other left-field sounds that make their remix truly unique.  It’s another ace production from the Israeli duo.

Last but certainly not least, up-and-comer Frankyeffe, who delivered the goods on his collaborative Splitting Minds EP with Loco & Jam last fall, serves up some impeccably produced techno for big rooms.  The Italian young gun’s mix is absolute savagery.  

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Yoshi Classic pack without a remastered original mix.  We hope you enjoy this excellent remix pack.

A year after ‘Together / That’s Right’, long-time friends and sonic sparring partners Steve Bug and Cle return to Rejected with two more statements of timeless intent that tap into the classic foundations of true techno story telling.

Long builds, emotional chords, layers and narrative twists are the devils in the detail as the pair present another couple of ageless hypnotic trips: The craftily titled ‘Tweaky Blinders’ takes the lead with its sombre one stroke chords whispering over the robust kicks and salubrious subs while the wily acid flurries between the spaces. Stately, immersive and coded with sentiment; drop it and watch the crowd march in unison.

The equally wryly titled ‘Bark Side Of The Moog’ follows suit. Once again there’s a solemn air to the chords as they sway with pensive poignancy. This time the drum arrangement is much more full frontal and unavoidable. Rolling with a sense of momentum that’s almost mid 90s prog in its energy, shine and behaviour, yet again Steve and Cle have nailed the timeless feel. Hopefully this will become an annual thing and they’ll return to Rejected for another round this time next year….
