Slightly tarted up and edited Open AI Jukebox sample 'Synthpop in the style of Donna Summer' from their Soundcloud archive. There's so much going on in this output — intricate little melodic flourishes, layers of percussion, a demonic, boozy party going on in the background, sweet vocal harmonies, deadly bassline, absolutely amazing. Hoping another neural network will become available eventually to extrapolate more detail from this dreamworld and reduce the digital artifacts.

I woke up startled from a dream on 2/2/2024. The dreamworld immediately dissolved leaving only a glistening, four-bar loop of Italo Disco cheese. Working as quickly as possible I attempted to recreate the main parts of the track before they faded away. Was this a memory, or an invention? Is anything as uninteresting as other people's dreams?

Datassette, speaking about himself in the third person, has finally released a third album (Offal and Selected Offal should be considered anthologies), this follows 2008's self-titled 'Datassette' on Ai Records.

Spanning 5 years, 80% of the works here are one-shot stereo recordings of hardware jams, usually to tape, sometimes with collaborators. Hitting record as soon as some elements sound interesting, experimenting for half an hour or so, then editing together all the highlights. This way of working means no over-engineering and no undo, like writing in black sharpie. You behave differently when you're making permanent marks.

This same methodology was carried through to the cover design, using Letraset, Letratone, magazine cuttings, scissors, spray mount and paper.

VOID FILL PRODUCT was released exclusively on Bandcamp on April 24th 2020. The original handmade artwork will be available for purchase at a later date.
