Jen Symmetry has loved and played drum and bass since the early 2000’s at clubs, parties, and festivals, offering direct support for international acts including Dieselboy, DJ Hype, J Majik, Hive, Reid Speed, John B, Spor and others as a member of DC and Bassheadz Productions out of Minneapolis. Past residencies include Infused at First Ave, 9th Circle at Club Underground, and Revolutions radio 89.3 FM in Boston. She’s brought her energetic track selection and precise mixing skills across the US, including Chicago, San Diego, Miami (WMC World of Drum and Bass 2004 and NYC. She currently collaborates with Proper Chicago and Mechanix Minneapolis, as well as hosts the popular Twitch channel SLPDNB. In 2021 she also earned the title of 916Junglist/Dystopia DJ Battle champion, and has recently reignited her love of music production. Regardless of your taste in music, Jen’s style and passion will have you busting a move on the dancefloor. Four Corners Music Artists Mix Series - 8 -  J Psychic

Recently I had a debate with someone about the term "liquid". He feels it's become an outdated term to describe what's basically become 75% of all DNB music produced today, and in a way he's right. I've long stopped worrying whether "liquid" actually describes what I play in these sessions. Instead I use the term loosely, mostly to set some sort of expectation of what you'll be hearing from me. In all practicality, I like to play across the board. It's deep, it's soulful, it's techy at times, it's dark minimal at others. It's abstract, it's jazzy, it's rolling, it's dancefloor, it's peak time stuff, it's afterhours stuff. Mainly I want it all to make sense in relation to each other. I'm less concerned about what to exactly call it. It's like that famous saying "House is a feeling"... Maybe "Liquid" is also a feeling and not just a specific sound? To be continued...
