Music from the Mothership #002 Tank Howls presents Ay-lish & Rampaige

OKO is a Drum and Bass DJ & Producer, based in Bristol . 
OKO’s passion for music first began at the age of 12, when she taught herself to play guitar and sing. 
Now three years deep into her musical journey, OKO has been immersing herself in her production as well as mastering her high-energy DJ sets. 
Alongside her Lakota Residency, she has played across the UK - including clubs such as Motion, Fabric, Ministry of Sound supporting the likes of Chase & Status, Pendulum, Turno and many others...
The future is bright for OKO!

Lilithyx a DJ delivering dark, rolling energy to the decks. Originally from Devon, she has long been influenced by the South West sound refining her style to reflect the city’s heavy minimal scene. Since moving to Bristol Lilithyx has been mentored by Hollie-May to focus on technicality, performance and mental health within the music industry. Lilithyx has had an exciting year working with labels such as Balance - Collective DNB, Goat Shed Music, House of Hi-Fi and Full Spectrum. Look out for Lilithyx as she continues to focus on embarking her musical journey.

Music from the Mothership #003 Tank Howls presents OKO & Lilithyx

Mazza Bio
Mazza, 25 year old Welsh DnB DJ and aspiring producer based in Cardiff, South Wales. Whilst only starting her mixing journey 2 years ago she has already played for various respected brands and labels across the UK, such as; Dazed, Wide Eyes, Into Darkness, Next Hype, Fully Charged, Free Rave (Motion), Pull up and more. 

Her biggest inspirations are DJs/Producers, Dominator, Slipz, Nu Elementz, Crossy, Amplify, Benny Page, Kelvin 373, Harriet Jaxxon, Turno and Kanine. Her sets are always high energy with a variety of switch ups, choppy drops, vocal tracks and double drops. She loves to mix old school Low Down Deep jump up but also likes to add the kind of selection you’d expect to hear at a Jungle Cakes or Born On Road set aswell.

Music has always been a massive part of her life and her earliest memories are being brought up listening to Ska and Reggae with her dad. When she went to an event at Motion 4 years ago and found DnB she felt at home and instantly felt a connection with DnB, she has since found friends for life through raving and a passion in wanting to be a successful DJ with the hopes to one day start producing her own music too

Euphonique Bio

Producer, DJ, label boss, songwriter. With beats on respected D&B labels such as Hospital, Born On Road, Jungle Cakes, Dread Recordings, Ruffneck Ting and her own imprint Subwoofah Records, Euphonique’s high energy style has been part of the landscape since she emerged in 08 and has led to heavy plays on Radio 1 and 1Xtra; nominations for Jungle and Drum and Bass awards; collabs with some of the most respected people in the scene and performances at many iconic dances.

Glastonbury to Boomtown, Warehouse Project to Fabric, UK to Europe to Asia and beyond; Euphonique has taken her art around the world and across the airwaves. Broadcaster since ‘09, she currently hosts a show with jungle pioneer Dazee on SWU.FM.

A music mentor and lyric writer, Euphonique is motivated by empowering the next generation and championing equality and representation across the scene. Her brand Subwoofah was one of Manchester’s most consistent and popular D&B events (10–14) and a thriving studio community (17-19) and record label (since 2013), responsible for breaking new talent such as Epicentre, Sl8r, Motiv and K-Jah with a string of chart topping release and D&B number 1s. 
Now based in Bristol, Euphonique continues perform and produce for he biggest brands in Drum and Bass and Jungle.

Gen-Z Bio
GEN-Z  is a young Drum and Bass DJ & Producer, based in Bristol making waves with her
 unique jump up style and signature energy behind the decks up a down the country. Her
 passion for music first began at the age of 12, when she taught herself to play the guitar and piano.

With only two years’ experience djing and just over a year in production, GEN-Z is the perfect example of what hard work and dedication can do for an artist who is determined. She has built a strong following in a short space of time and is gaining the attention of fans and other artists within the industry.
 Alongside the UK, GEN -Z has been bringing her unique style across the globe including Los Angeles, Ayia Napa, Kavos, Bulgaria and the Netherlands as well as festivals such as Innovation, Amsterdam spring break, Bass sea and shindig. GEN-Z is honing in on her production this year with her first release coming out in February, where the track has been supported by the likes of Profile, Evil B & Sub Zero.

Alongside the shows and production, her skills have got her appearances on Rinse FM, Bloc to Bloc, Mode, and an upcoming show on Kiss FM.
 Expect big things from GEN-Z throughout the year, this Bristol-based artist is only just getting started.

Concrete Junglists is brought to you by Dave Shaw, Ransom, Double A Side. A Welsh music collective and clothing brand. Concrete Junglists represents the worldwide tribe of Junglists, forwarding the idea of peace, love, unity and inclusivity through its streetwear brand and parties. This month will see the second in the Mothership's collab series. With Concrete Junglist's and Music from the Mothership Joining forces on the 7th of April, putting on events that work 
 towards more equality and diversity within the music scene. Tune in to hear what they have to say........

Ransom
Bio
Multi Award winning Ransom, hailing from Cardiff, Wales has been djing for over 18 years now, and has played for every major event in Cardiff, his skills behind the decks have also taken him to some of the Major cities in the U.K., and has even got the attention of a Swedish Drum and Bass night called Frequency, headlining this event out in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has also shown he is a proven international artists by playing out in Prague. Ransom has worked his absolute socks off to get to the position he is in, and this paid off in 2017 by winning the Cardiff Music Awards 'Best Dj' at the aforementioned awards ceremony as well as ‘Best DJ Set’ at the Immersed Festival awards. He has supported pretty much every Headline DJ in his career so far, it would be easier to list the DJ's who he HASN'T supported the list is that long! His fast mixing and brilliant selection always guarantees that the ravers do not leave the dance floor for the entirety of his set. Be it on 2 or 3 decks it makes no odds to Ransom, his energetic sets and his fast paced style mixed together with his knowledge of Drum and Bass throughout the years always guarantees 1 thing, you will never know what he will bring to the table, keeps the ravers guessing and ultimately wanting more! Label Manager of Incurzion Audio and part of the crew at Concrete Junglists, Ransom has some big things in store, definitely one to watch

Bio
An adopted Welsh soul and a leading figure in Concrete Junglists, Double A Side originally hails from Brighton but started getting into Drum & Bass seriously after starting University at Aberystwyth, having originally discovered London Elektricity, Pendulum & Hospital Records during his teenage years. Whilst filming for local event Black House he got the curiosity for DJing, after witnessing artists cut up sets on CDJ’s and Turntables at a time when Dubstep was running alongside Drum & Bass equally on the dancefloor.

He picked up his first controller (a Hercules MK4!) after graduating and moving down to Cardiff, where he attended his first Aperture night at Clwb Ifor Bach, a 3hr London Elektricity all-vinyl set! Not long after, he started mixing on his then girlfriend’s Numark belt drives and took up a DJ School workshop at Catapult Records, where he gained tutelage on CDJ’s and direct drive Technics. It wasn’t long after, he purchased his first set of 1210’s just before the record shop closed for good.
Fast forward to 2023 and Double A Side has been setting decks on fire with his blend of deep, liquid and rolling bass filled sets, blending between sub genres to take the raver on a journey at any time of the day and night. Having warmed up for artists such as Andy C, Breakage, Digital, DJ Marky, Friction, Randall, Storm & Whiney, and playing for brands & festivals such as Big Love, DnB Allstars, Escape, Rumble in the Jungle & Run, Double A Side’s story is continually unfolding, with the next chapter currently underway.

This month we have 

DJ Jessi G aka GShellz is a multi-talented extremely versatile first class DJ /Presenter/Producer, spinning several Genres of music. She is also a resident for Jungle Cakes and plays regularly for Jungle Cakes across the UK.

Over the past 20 years her DJ sets have graced clubs from Europe to The Middle East, South Africa on to America and all the way back to London.

She uses her vast experience of playing in front of audiences all over the world, to please each and every time. It doesn't matter which genre you have booked her to play, she will apply the same energy and emotion to each individual set. Giving you a performance you won't want to miss.

Jessi will take you on a journey building up the night with her uniquely selected DnB / Jungle Basslines Ragga Vocals, Melodic riffs, and precision mixing.

MC Enamie has been involved in a few Iconic events such as; Boomtown, V Fest, Eastern Electrics, Jungle Mania, Def:intion, Labrynth, Breakin’ Science, 360, Pure Science and, Warning She has a passion for D&B but also dabbles in Garage. This versatile MC/host regularly performs at D&B events across the UK. Enamie has performed on various radio stations including BBC 1Xtra, Kool FM, Rinse FM, Code Red, Rough Tempo just to name a few. She started writing bars at the age of 15 and has since then written many more and performed alongside some massive names in the D&B scene including feature on an Evil B track and a release on RAM Records with Freek called Remedy. Enamie also hosts on a UKG vibe alongside MC KIE with London Garage Orchestra. They had the pleasure of performing on the Truth stage at the last Glastonbury. She is a member of Girls Take Action (GTA) and helped to write the music for a play called "Cassie and Corey" which was up for the BBC podcast awards. She has now been within the D&B scene over 15 years and plans to go on for many more.

Birmingham based Drum & Bass DJ Blare is known for her distinct mixing style, as she skillfully blends minimal, jungle, and jump up elements, creating a unique and captivating sound. As a resident DJ for 02:31 and member of the Sisterhood Birmingham Collective, Blare has firmly established herself in the local music scene. She has supported the likes of Serum, Chase and Status and Monrroe, and takes her inspiration from Harriet Jaxxon, Bou, Napes and Frenetic. With her infectious energy within her sets, Blare continues to push the boundaries of Drum and Bass, leaving a lasting impression on the crowd.

Vispera Bio.
Hailing from Manchester, Vispera has been performing words since her early teens, developing her voice through spoken word, slam poetry and creative writing. The last year has seen Vispera emerge into the Bristol Drum and Bass scene and narrate the rave space with her visceral, poetic MCing style. 

This year has seen Vispera host for the likes of Hollie-May, Creatures, Missledz and Trex and become a resident MC for Phase Records, Just Be, Full Spectrum and SIsterhood Birmingham. 

Vispera‘s debut release is her track called ‘Home Less’ out now on Off-Licence Records and her mixtape ‘VESPERS’ is a project that combines her poetry, djing and mcing into an extended, cinematic Drum and Bass audio piece.

Artemis

A junglist at heart, Artemis’ passion for music is clearly shown through her track selection as she consistently pushes the boundaries of combining old school jungle with the modern era. Combining everything from heavy jungle breaks to minimal, neuro and dark rollers seamlessly in her sets - you’ll be taken on a journey in each and every set.

Since starting her career in 2019, Artemis has played multiple headline shows, toured across Asia and supported some of the biggest artists in the industry across the UK & Europe. More recently, she has been noticed for her own productions by label giant. Audioporn and is currently being mentored by them in collaboration with EQ50.

DJ Minali

DJ Minali (Mia Chivers) is a multi genre DJ based in Bristol, primarily mixing Drum and Bass. Heavily influenced by the likes of Underworld, Roni Size and DJ Marky, Minali’s passion for music across the spectrum is brought through in her drum and bass mixes. 

After 2 years of studios visits to perform live streams on platforms such as Bloc2Bloc and Goat Shed, DJ Minali made her live debut in Lakota 2023. She is eager to get back in front of a crowd and share the tunes she loves.

DEVINA BIO: 

Meet DEVINA, the 23 year old up-and -coming multi-genre DJ from London. Having burst onto the scene this summer, playing her first ever live set at Goodentime 2023, Devina does not shy away from bringing a unique blend of funky 4x4 flavours and dance floor filling jungle breaks. Though her sets are never tied down to one genre, she’ll be sure to get the dance floor moving!

Goodentime Bio:

Goodentime is a grassroots music festival nestled in the heart of the countryside. The event celebrates the full spectrum of contemporary music; a melting pot of genres including live bands, vocalists, hip hop, and a plethora of dance genres such as drum and bass, 4x4, house and techno, and everything inbetween. 

The festival has an all inclusive ethos that transcends the norm. Goodentime champions an open conversation, encouraging attendees to be themselves, and contribute to the vibe in their own unique way.

Emu Bio
'Emu' is a female drum and bass DJ based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Fairly new to the scene she has quickly made her mark in the local DnB community with her experimental, high energy sets.

As well as playing for local events and festivals like Twisted Tempo and Lakefest UK, Emu has joined forces with Ugly Ducklin' Events with an aim to promote and push for equality within the industry.

Chez Bio
VOCALIST, DJ AND SONGWRITER, CHEZ HAS BEEN GAINING A GROWING REPUTATION IN THE SOUTH WEST DRUM & BASS SCENE. ETHEREAL VOCALS WITH INSTRUMENTATION OF JUNGLE AND LIQUID ROLLERS CREATE AN EVER EVOLVING ORIGINAL SOUND WHILST HER LIBRARY OF UNSIGNED TRACKS CONTINUES TO EXPAND. Eresid Bio
Eresid, a fierce experimental bass DJ, started her musical journey in 2021, making a significant impact in the underground music scene both as a solo artist and a member of Kitten Club. She defies genre boundaries, combining dark wompy tracks, timeless classics, and new age technical beats.
Eresid introduces fresh flavours and atmospheric sound design, creating an electrifying DnB atmosphere. She also explores slower tempos, expertly blending UK 140, grime, and dubstep, infusing her style with potent basslines. Her genre-blending approach and neurodivergence-driven focus on sound design have earned her
support from Electrikal Sound System and bookings at prestigious venues and festivals, including Boomtown, Balter, El Dorado, and an international debut in Prague. With a busy club schedule spanning DNB, Jungle, 140s, and more, Eresid consistently surprises and captivates her audience with unexpected selections.

Leanne Louise Bio
Leanne Louise is a singer/songwriter, DJ & Presenter from Essex. The last few years have seen some phenomenal highlights for Leanne Louise. Performing to hundreds of thousands at multiple Festivals and Venues across the UK and abroad including Boardmasters, Glastonbury, the O2 + many more!

In 2022 Leanne made her debut in the Official Big Top 40 for the first time at #29 and entered the official UK download charts at #12 as well as having her music played on TV for the Final of ITV’s Love Island.

Leanne has a weekly radio show on Flex FM every Monday Afternoon which can be found online, FM and Dab+ where she has honed her skills DJ'ing and interacting with her audience, coming up with creative ways to include her listeners as an important part of the show.

Musically Leanne is very diverse, but has an overwhelming passion for new D&B as well as discovering classic gems and working them into her high energy sets, both on radio and at shows.

Ruff Riddims takeover with J Milla

“Ruff Riddimz is a Bristol based collective and events brand focused on bringing the immersive arts to the rave.”

The collective first formed in 2022, with residents performing multi-genre sets at festivals such as Spring Break Amsterdam, Camp Oktoberfest (Munich), and Goodentime. Heavily inspired by the immersive spaces and stages created for these festivals, the attention drew towards bringing this feature to an event. 

The collective has since hosted a number of events across the Southwest. From Hidden Temple at Crofters Rights featuring RWB, to Shaolin Jungle Sessions at The Crown, Ruff Riddimz are pushing the underground sound of Bristol and transforming venues into conceptual spaces for ravers to get lost in.


“Jmilla is a Bristol based DJ and co-founder of immersive events brand Ruff Riddimz. Heavily influenced by the city’s sound system culture, his mixing style covers a multitude of underground genres - from 140 to Jungle and everything in between. Since his debut set in Amsterdam (2022), Jmilla has performed at events across the UK and internationally; from raves in Bristol and London, to festival sets in Munich and the Netherlands, alongside established artists in the scene.”

The Skank Engine

Bristol based DJ, Producer and Radio Presenter and member of the Ruff Riddims crew The Skank Engine has made a name from himself every since moving to Bristol 2 years ago. Since then he has played his jungle infused neuro style all over the city in venues such as the Lakota, Black Swan & the 02 Academy. With 2023 highlights including 3 festival sets and a 6hour live charity set, skank engine is a name to watch in the coming year.
