Cyprusian is back with EP002 of his show “State of Techno”. As promised, from EP002 the second half of the show will feature a guest mix. 

For EP002 Cyprusian has invited Kaidun and April, residents and founders of E Chorus Uk, a techno night in Leeds UK. They have curated a set using vinyl and digital techno, breaks and electro tracks. 
Their party focuses on showcasing the UK’s most exciting techno talent, making the most out of the city’s intimate clubs & spaces. Previous guests include Yant (SKeleven) and Stevie Cox (Sub Club), two up and coming artists that represent the diverse Chorus sound. In 2021 Chorus has a plethora of UK talent locked in for Q3-4 to be announced later this year.

April is the pseudonym of Leeds based DJ & Promoter, Ben Moulson. Often claiming he was born “20 years too late”, April’s taste lays within the ‘glory days’ of techno, with a heavy focus on early 2000’s hard-groove. April curate’s his sets with a contrast of the old-school and the new, combining fast and funky grooves, with gritty textures and uplifting melodies. 

Kaidun is a 21 year old artist from the north-west who DJ’s & produces a wide range of dance music. In this mix, he alternates between some of his favourite techno & electro records from the likes of Hadone, Aloka & his all time favourite, Robert Hood, with plenty of groove throughout.

State of Techno EP002 will air at 22:00 pm GMT on 17/4/2021.

BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL have a very special guest mix in store for 6AM, seamlessly mixing multiple genres into one high-energy hour of music.

The duo are a force of nature squared, combining their taste for raw and rousing music in the fields of acid, techno, house, electro, and more. They channel this alongside influence from their respective Curacaoan and Israeli heritage, crafting tracks and sets that are packed full of potent sounds and able to keep dancefloors enthralled while veering in unexpected directions. Together, they are a couple living in Amsterdam and have emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Their knack for crafting craggy acid and jackin’ techno is only outmatched by the palpable collaborative energy they bring to their DJ sets.

Despite the global disruption of 2020, Black Girl / White Girl continued their incredibly forceful run of form, gained support from across the techno community, and quickly established their strong reputation. They remain busy on the output front in 2021 with new music arriving on Symbolism, Warehouse Music, EI8HT, and Balkan Vinyl, and installments of the monthly OPERATOR mix series dropping to keep fans dancing at home.

On the vibe BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL were trying to achieve with this mix: "This is the set we’d play while the sun was setting right behind a dark and steamy Pride festival tent packed with 100% VAXXED techno, acid house, and breakbeat aficionados. We got laser beams blazing all over the crowd, steam hissing from the ceiling, sweat dripping from the jacking bodies, all of that. Each track amplifies the sensual energy, keeping the vibes fierce throughout the 60 minutes set. We're dropping some of our favorite tracks from the likes of Ariel Zetina, LSDXOXO, Jerome Hill, Betonkust, and Ejeca. More than anything, this mix is about honoring our community. Subradeon is a musical mission started more than ten years ago in  southern Italy, well known as a territory rich in artistic and musical  vanguards, with the intention to continue and be an active part of that  message born in the Detroit’s streets in the middle 80’s: “live the  music” as a universal message, as the most important thing, as a  cultural movement.
One thing is clear, from the first listen one can  appreciate their innovative ability, their creativity in mixing their  styles, honouring the pure techno sound with the soul of Motown combined  with elements that range from hip hop to jazz, from funk to soul.

Before the recent rise in '90s style psychedelic, ambient-influenced electronic music, one of the only producers offering up this kind of hallucinatory revivalism was A Sagittariun.  On the ‘Minor Malfunction’ single, the one born under the 9th sign returns to Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, with a brace of linear techno jams.

The Bristol based, techno dream weaver, has always operated on the Outer Rim of the techno and electronica galaxy, but has, and remains, a sound shaper and influencer, via releases for esteemed labels such as Running Back, Idle Hands, Hypercolour, Craigie Knowes, and his own Elastic Dreams imprint.

‘Minor Malfunction’ hurls a pacey and swinging minimal techno beat high up into the stars, as a quirky and funky infusion of choppy pulses and dubbed out tones are showered in transcendental bleeps.  In contrast, ‘Heresy’ plays it straighter, but is no less deadly, as rampaging beats and ominous and apocalyptic synths & strings come crashing in like waves.
