Motive Audio welcomes Colombian Drum & Bass producer Brain with his latest release, the four-track 'Foreign' EP.

Known for his rolling, tech-infused sound, Brain draws on his roots to craft a unique blend of traditional Colombian instrumentation, weighty sub pressure and shadowy atmospheres. The result is a bold and percussive take on modern Drum & Bass that’s built for the dancefloor.

The EP also includes a collaboration with label boss Mains and MC Gusto, who delivers the striking line: “Black ash everywhere, be prepared” — adding a menacing layer to Brain’s razor-sharp production.

The 'Foreign' EP lands exclusively on Beatport on 31st May, with a full release across all platforms two weeks later.

Brain 'Never Coming Back' [Motive Audio]

Jake Hicks & Jack Pike, aka Hillsdom, have been making music together for years after meeting at school. We welcomed Hillsdom to the Soulvent Records family back in October 2024 with ‘Good 4 U’, an uplifting, high energy, feel-good banger - laden with lush pads and big bass notes. Then we had them join the 10 year celebrations in May 2025 with a more gully offering in ‘Jynx’. Now they're back, following this up quickly with ‘Restless’. A more laid back affair but giving them opportunity to show even more of the capabilities they have in the locker.

The airy intro slowly brings in the hi-hats with increasing speed but whilst the arrival of the drop may catch you by surprise, the content within is absolutely as you’d expect. A driving bassline, guttural bass stabs and snappy drums come together and result in a dark liquid roller that sounds great in headphones and on sound systems.

Don’t sleep on ‘Restless’ the latest offering from Hillsdom, which lands in all good stores on 18th July.

Landing June 27, this debut two-tracker brings the kind of soul-soaked finesse you want for the early hours or the sun-drenched afters. Phrase keeps it stripped back and emotional, but never loses sight of the dancefloor. Both tunes explore connection and feeling without going full rinse or full recline. Balanced and deadly.

On ‘Get To Know’, Phrase channels pure liquid therapy: floating pads, smooth vocal touches, and sub-bass you can feel in your spine. Flip to ‘You’ and the mood shifts. More intimate, more introspective, still with that crisp minimal edge. No filler here, just pure finesse for the deeper heads.
