Continuing the Most Violent Year Album project, NC-17 returns with the second instalment of this epic trilogy of long players.

Each part of this album series was written during a year in which the global pandemic took hold, intense political disruption created unstable futures and media outlets across the world became further polarised and outraged, creating vast swathes of angered and confused people, unsure of who to trust. This second edition encapsulates that paranoid, tense, terror - moving on from the looming dread of the unknown that formed the basis of Part 1.

Beginning each part of the album with an entirely new batch of tunes, Part 2 represents 13 of the best cuts from over 50 tracks written just for this chapter of this epic trilogy. By beginning with a fresh palette and creating entirely new music for each section NC-17 was able to keep each part distinct, and the music contained within this speaks exactly to the feelings he experienced during the project.

Alongside 8 incredible solo productions are collaborations with some of the dnb scene’s most notable talents, 5 exceptional tracks featuring Kolectiv & OB1, Myth, Philth, Dr. Apollo and Logam.

Representing the continued development of the NC-17 sound this album includes some of his best work to date, we’re proud to present ‘Most Violent Year Album – Part 2’.

Wreckless returns to Dispatch Limited for this deeply personal EP reflecting a period of intense change in his life. At the time many of these tracks were written he had reached a real turning point in his life, turning to music production to help handle grief but also mark the transition from working full time into professional music production.

With the EP title reflecting this leap of faith, the tracks are also representative of the emotions he felt during this time. ‘C# blues’ is an Emu bass workout, mainly anger and frustration. ‘Programs without Purpose’ is all punk, all attitude, working out loss, feeling fear. ‘Freelancer’ is about making the jump and believing better things are out there. ‘Tealights’ is about acceptance and finding peace. ‘Holiday blues’ is about moving on and ends the EP on a note of hope. 

As Wreckless himself says “I really hope people see this journey in the music. I am in such a different headspace now, but I love how reflective this EP is of that time”.

It’s with great pleasure that we present this special two-track release from Neve and Crimson. Both rising talents in the ever-expanding Italian drum and bass scene, this duo have long been friends and production partners. They list Dispatch as one of their favourite labels so we are equally excited for their debut outing on Dispatch Limited. 

With a strict lockdown in place at the time of writing these tunes Neve and Crimson had to adjust their usual close working practice, and learn to collaborate remotely for the first time. This forced them to consider how they worked, refocussing their process and making the very most of their hardware and software production techniques. 

‘No Love’ features the vocal talents of Laitha, is a singer, musician, songwriter, dancer and spiritual coach born in Milan. In 2019 she moved to Bristol, the perfect musical and mystical place to experiment the idea of combining ancient spirituality and music. This track was created in two different places, Italy and UK, at a time in history when the geographical distance was no longer relevant – a true international collaborative celebration.
