What's crackin fellow R&B/Hip-Hop heads?

Couple months ago I dusted off my turntables and made a mix on cassette. Yes very lame.

Not sure what to do with it now. So instead of having it evaporate into the ether, I uploaded it.

Nothing crazy, just a simple 43 min mix with a "diggin on you" theme. If you have time to kill and like both genres (e.g., Soul 4 Real, Ne-Yo, Common, Slum Village) check it out.

It's already been a decade since J Dilla — the mercurial producer and rapper from Detroit — passed away and his posthumously completed album, The Shining, saw the light of day on BBE Records. 

As they prepare to release the project on 7" for the first time, we're extremely honoured to get our hands on a never-before-heard mixtape by the master himself. Made some time between mid-1999 and early 2000, it's a fly-on-the-wall showing of what Jay Dee had blaring out of his speakers while on the sofa or by the MPC.

I couldn't help it and i can't deny how good it sounds. this is just an edit to play on my dj sets, and i played it once and everybody wanted it right away. Honestly i was gonna wait to see if Solange or her team or whoever works for her wouldve ask me to do an offical remix so if they still want to, i could make it sound better than that version but ohhhhh, what the hell....
anyways i highly recommend you that new Solange album "A Seat At The Table".

Containing rare tape demos from a 17-year-old Jay Dee, classic J Dilla productions and unheard beats broken down to their kick and snare bare bones (via Dilla's own MPC files) and plenty of other musical nuggets, it's a must listen for anyone vaguely interested in the genius' work.
