CONSTANCE

I took a classical approach to this track. This was a project to look at a new way of going about composing melodies and testing grounds to hear what a classical piece written in todays fashion would sound like. It has grown on me. I hope you all enjoy it as well. It was a lot of fun to create.

Light Sparks and Water Dorps

This new track I recorded has many flavors of electric guitar music in it. Fusion with a hint of Rock would be a good description, for it has a blend of several styles. In my earliest experiences with the electric guitar, the sounds and the music, I can remember bands like Return to Forever, Zappa's guitar work, Mahavishnu Orchestra and it's founder John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny, later some Yes, Asia, Steve Lukather, some Genesis, Al Di Meola, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, amongst many others.

Fusion music I got to hear very early on through mixtapes my uncle made for me. These were mesmerizing to me. Didn't always understand what I heard, but it stuck with me through life and through the years I developed my ear more and more. This track celebrates those sounds and uses accessible and uplifting harmonies and melodies, that are at times snappy, then smooth, some are rock, some more blues based, some are jazz oriented. (Note: There is a hint to Bruce Hornsby's most famous song in one of the melodies.)

Out of no where this came to being. Do you ever feel like your walking against some current or rather, that when you are out in society; everyone around you is moving at a lightning speed while you sit there taking in everything they don't perceive. Like you the only one who is not some gear in a moving machine? Are you the only one listening to your own heart beat, being empathetic to the chaotic state of being burning down around us.
