Review: 

Danny "80s Child" Worrall's Masterworks Music label seems to specialize in delivering tasty reworks of long forgotten '80s soul, boogie and P-funk gems. This latest EP from Brooklyn-based P-Sol is packed to the rafters with this kind of gear. He does an admirable job balancing the needs of the dancefloor with giving the original material due reverence, as you'd expect from someone of his vast experience. There's some slow, chugging, synth-laden disco sweetness ("Every Night"), a dash of breezy '80s dancefloor soul (the filters and bumpin' beats of "Real Love"), and a lesson in the power of dubbed-out horns and eyes-closed synth solos (the admirable "Do Ya"). In other words, plenty of tried-and-tested material for those who dig synth-heavy disco grooves.

I'll be honest, I had forgotten about Samuel Jonathan Johnson until i heard Theo Parrish play it recently. I used to spin the LP years ago but my copy got lost or beat. Soon as I heard it I made a call and sorted out the 45, just an amazing solid Groove on Sweet Love, you cant help but feel it. The flip 'Reasons; is the other great track from the same Columbia LP 'My Music' . First time on 45 for both of these, once they are gone that is it. Disco Essential

For a 2020 fresh start we welcome back our label's head honcho 'The Funk District' with a brand new contribution on this Disconstucted EP consisting on four disco-constructed or deconstructed blends with a deep touch to it. As a starter 'Stuck On The Line' comes in the form of an intense funky jam filled with groovy piano chords, a powerful bassline and lots of funky guitars making it an exceptional cut for peak hours. Right next to it 'Melas' shows up as a heavy-weight sampled gem with a melancholic taste and an outstanding guitar solo attached to profound synths and energetic vocal chops. On the other side 'The Horn feat. Sokur' is a contribution with former Argentinian Piano Man: Sokur, bringing spice and a tropical flavor to the release with his outstanding musical approach in this afro-latin cut.
