Song-A-Week Challenge Theme: KIDS
This song was written in a very simple style called the Talkin' Blues. Many artists wrote silly songs in this style including my favorites by Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and Dave Van Ronk. 
LYRICS:
Well, my phone went ringing just a half past three
It was Auntie Susie, she's a callin' for me
Her babysitter had fallen through
and she didn't know who else to turn to
In quite of a pickle. She can pay me in chicken eggs. Cool beans.

I said goodnight to my peace and quiet
I tucked my book in said, "rest your eyelids"
I gave a big sigh and I grabbed my guitar
Luckily the family don't live too far
Just up the mountain, uphill, both ways.

Well, I arrived quick, just a quarter after four
As my mama's sister was a-heading out the door

Don't give him milk it gives him bad diarrhea."

Well, there was little Jimmy's face glued to the screen
Said he's playing Roblox, some video game
I said "How're you doing, you hungry little dude?"
"I'm gonna play Minecraft, I don't want any food!"
Man, was I like that? I think I was. Sorry, Mom.

Jimmy changed it over to a YouTube show
I said, here's my chance, man, "What do you know?
I've got a channel, I've got 100 views!"
"Pewdiepie passed 90,000,002"
Subscribers, that is. Internet gold. Digital friends.

Jimmy got bored, and I don't care
He ditched on the Switch and he switched to the Twitch
Now, Twitch is a streaming application
Where you watch other people play video games...

My head was aching from all of these electronics
So I grabbed my guitar for some soothing harmonics
Jimmy came buzzing like a pesky mosquito
Said, "oh my gosh, can you play 'Despacito'?"
*sigh* Alright, Jimmy. 
Why don't you go into the kitchen, 
and grab two bowls of ice cream?

I wrote this song this morning about a dream I have on occasion, and not wanting to wake up from it.

insomnia last night
has made me feel groggy
the sandwich i’d packed
by lunch became soggy
no reason to quit
i know that i’m stuck
why find another job
cuz all of them suck

i skipped happy hour
for i’d had my fill
no power at home
i hadn’t paid the bill
i couldn’t use my phone
the battery had died
the day kept getting darker
and so did my mind
