The first live recording to be released from Soak presents FAC51 Hacienda Open Air's special day party at Canvas Yard, with Greg Wilson's full set which typically takes in exclusive edits and versions of many classic tracks featuring The Orb, Orbital and the excellent Massive Attack.

Recorded between 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM, this set provided the perfect soundtrack as the venue began to fill, setting the tone for an unforgettable day.

At the end of last year, London Acid House legend Terry Farley swung by the Brownswood Basement for a chat with Gilles, discussing his 'Acid' compilation series, which dig deep into Chicago house and deep house from the mid to late 1980s.  

Terry also discusses his role in the seminal club night, Shoom, the Boy's Own fanzine he ran with Andrew Weatherall, and the Junior Boy's Own label which birthed Chemical Brothers, Underworld, and many more. 

Plus, Terry discusses London in the 1970s and 80s, his stance on the Punk movement, the role of ecstasy in the emergence of club culture,  the role of the internet in today's scene, and many other theories!

All these tunes were played by Sasha during such sets from Lakota in '92 and '94 (both amazing nights) and Universe in '92 (where his set is still one of the best I've heard, with Joe Peng MC'ing). 

I originally made this mix just using house music, but it never really felt complete, so I added some more progressive house tunes for the final 30 minutes. These still sound so good, even 26 or so years on, and served to finish off the story in suitable fashion.

This was mixed entirely using 12" vinyl and 1210's, I hope you enjoy.....

Last of how I remember Sub Club Atlantis nights in 1991 moving into the last chapter of the year. 1991 is much maligned but hopefully showing there's more to the year than hoover techno and piano screamers.  Only really scratching the surface as still finding tracks from the best year of dance music to this day.  The last truly diverse year with many genres in the same night.
