Life tears away at a breakneck pace.
Though Winter stalls in a frozen space,
And Autumn leaves seem to pause the show,
The Spring and Summer make the engines glow.
They compensate for the drag and delay,
Speeding up the light of day.

Not long ago, I paid no mind
To the fleeting nature of the grind.
Everything happens for the very first time.

And no, I don’t reckon it’s bleak or wrong.
It’s just the rhythm of the living song.
I hold no grief for the chances missed,
Or the unfinished lips I never kissed.
I was merely a lad, it was natural then.
But now I’m wary of the how and when.
I treat the seconds with a solemn care,
Breathing in the thinning air.

Time.
It spins so fast, a blurred display,
I check the hands throughout the day.
Every half hour, I watch it climb,
And I shout out to the face of Time:
"Oi! Where you rushing to?
Slam on the brakes! See it through!"
But it turns a deaf ear to my plea,
It hasn't got a word for me.
I have to learn to play the game,
By rules that I can never tame.



It’s curious to speak with the younger crowd,
Reflections of me, but slightly too loud.
Just twenty years lost in the haze,
They seem much sharper than in my days.

Newest Path Records was started by Producer/Writer/Artist Dave G. Involved in music all his life, Dave G built and opened his own recording studio in 1983. Engineering and producing soulful West coast artists, he landed an Artist/Production/Distribution deal with Warner/Reprise for him and his soulful Bay Area Artist Clever Jeff in '95. He has worked with many successful Artists such as some members of Digital Underground, including a recording session with Tupac (R.I.P), Mike Marshall, and mixed and co-produced songs for Roc a fella Records Artists Christion and also a song featuring Jay Z, Feeling the need to express himself and realizing a void in the music world that needed to be filled, Dave G closed the studio to the public, and is now recording and performing as his own Artist, long in the making. Quite the late bloomer, Dave G brings vibrant attributes to the vibrant, and anti-vibrant world.
