I got back from this year’s epic episode of Mareh with my heart full and my mind inspired as usual. It was another magnificent gathering of pure love and community with so many friends all gathering together to celebrate life, love, music and dancing.

The first day I got back in the studio, and still with the Mareh life force pumping in my blood, I did this DJ mix. It includes only tracks I played in my sets on the magical Mareh boat party and at the Bar da Praia on 1st day of the New Year.

It is my love letter to this coisa boa which has transformed me as a person and my life.

It’s called Nossa because WE ARE MAREH.

It’s easy that way and exciting. But tonight I had this thought, I remembered something all DJs and dancers know about. I remembered what it is like when you have had a long set or session through the night or day. Or perhaps for a few days at a festival. And then at a certain point you are playing or dancing and everyone who is there wants to be there. This is the place. This is the time. It maybe isn’t the best gig or moment in your career or life. But for that precious period of time it is just you and the people on the dance floor. You are together as one and as a DJ you can do what you want because you are united in the music. This is often a great time to drop the tempo and play the music you love and which has real feeling. I love those moments. I tried to capture them tonight stuck in a studio on my own.
