The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Primary Colours brings you the much anticipated Mike Schommer - City Sleeps remixes, Part 2. F

Following remixes on part one from Steve O Sullivan, Rhauder and CV313 we come back just as strong with remixes from Deepchord, Deadbeat and Freunde der Familie. 

First off the cut is Mike s friend, Rod Model, Deepchord. Bringing his signature sound, this remix is hypnotic, deep and encapsulating. Driven by dark percussive rhythms, ghostly vocals invite you to take the journey with Deepchord as he creates a timeless dub techno classic. 

In contrast to Deepchord, Scott Monteith, aka Deadbeat, brings us a jacking club dub techno cut. Swirling, sweeping soundscapes play with the strong bass drum and snappy snare. The Blood & Bones remix is sure to be one for the dancefloors from Melbourne to Berlin. 

Last on the remix duties are our good friends, FDF, with the Downunder Dub. Dark, Dub, Dystopian sounds conjure up feelings of deep emotions, looking inwards for answers to questions put to the dancefloor by FDF. Another timeless classic ensues.

Based out of San Francisco, Federsen and his Alt Dub imprint are known as purveyors of
all things raw and intricate in the world of Dub Techno, holding the beacon and
championing the sound, introducing new artists and featuring highly respected figures
from the scene also. This new various artist package promotes exactly that.
Taking the lead is the widely revered cv313, the Detroit based dub powerhouse delivers his
signature sound with ‘Spectral Vector’ via hazy field recordings, textural noise,
modulating percussion and spiralling dub echoes all subtly nuanced throughout its nine
minute duration. Hidden Sequence’s ‘Azteca’ follows, picking up the energy levels
courtesy of swinging organic percussion, bubbling echoes, reverberated stab sequencing
and oscillating resonant synth flutters.
Opening the B-Side is Fletcher’s ‘A Distant Place’, an eight and a half minute excursion
through soft, dream like chimes, twitchy synth tones, a heavily swung rhythm section and
subtly nuanced structure. Sydney’s Taction then concludes the release with ‘Caesious’,
employing trickling water sounds, ethereal, expansive pads, pulsating subs and reduced
percussion.

It was 1997 and the MC-303 out, in the streets, ...so I got one, then..., later on..., ...an electribe mx..., then a mixer..., and BTW, sorry..., I don't know why I deleted my first Youtube channel..., so many good jams on there too..., but anyway..., the reason I'm a bit flooding the market right now is because an urge inside me to release some of my 20 years of home recordings before start getting kind of more serious with my new dub techno material...
