So, Eclectic 13...Decided to keep it limited to downtempo tracks/slow jams for this one. Overall feel is chilled out and perfect for a sunny day, but it does get a bit stompy (is that even a word?) in places.  As always, there’s loads of edits and mashups to keep it interesting.  We've got a big jumble of everything in here, from funk, soul, R&B, classic hip hop and rap, and some commercial tracks to a bit of acid and some other less obvious stuff.

Another mix that I’ve been meaning to do for a long time!  Over an hour of Electro (the original early 80s Electro, not the recent shite), some obvious and some not-so-obvious tunage.  

This was the stuff that I started off DJing back in 1984 using a pair of hifi decks and flicking between two channels on an amp and using a car fog light switch wired into the phono leads to scratch with!  Every Sunday night, we’d all pile down to the 180 club in Tyldesley on the bus to do breakdancing (badly) and check out all the latest music.  Happy days!

Eclectic 14!  Sorry it’s taken so long, I’ve had a few health problems this year, so have had to put all the mixes to one side for a while, it's been a bit of a slow recovery, but I’m on the mend now. 

As always, we span the decades and genres, but this time there’s a bigger emphasis on the 80s.  There are plenty of edits, mashups and remixes to hopefully keep it interesting.  It runs a bit longer than the others at almost 1 hour 33, and there was about 84 tracks and bits and pieces used.

A bit different to the other Doved Up mixes, this one is full of just piano tunes from the early 90s, still from the softer side of old skool.  I've tried to not do this mix for a long time as the piano genre has been hammered to death, but here is my take on it anyway.  I've picked a selection of obvious and not-so-obvious stuff and there are a few mash ups and other bits and pieces to keep it interesting (Well hopefully!).

Time for another oldskool hardcore mix!  Breaks Vol 4 goes up-tempo to 150BPM and is full of tunes from 92 and 93 with an emphasis on 93.  It's a mixed bag again, ranging from harder tracks to uplifting breaks and with a good amount of lesser known stuff and a few obvious classics, all pretty much banging though, I reckon!

Back with another big fat electro and breakdance mix.  I did this last month, but have been stone deaf with a cold.  Anyway, I can hear again now, so here it is.

This time, we plough through a few different styles, from the dark and edgy early electro, to the old favourites from the Streetsounds Electro albums and ending with a few of the more mainstream tracks, hopefully something for everyone that lived through this much loved musical era.  As always, there are loads of edits and other stuff to try to keep it interesting.

Doved up Volume 5!  This one almost didn't happen, my crossfader needs servicing again and has gone all stiff, so you may notice less of the cutting and more of the scratching!  Anyway, Doved up 5 is a bit of a Piano and Vocal special, I make no apologies for the content of this mix, there's some unashamedly pianoey stuff in there, from Italian piano screamers to plinky plonky vocal tracks.  This is the kind of stuff I used to play in the early 90s, but less so now as much of it has been hammered to death, but as the other Doved up mixes were quite popular, here's another.  The intro is a bit of a mess around with 3 decks, nothing too serious, beats, acapella and piano.  As always, I've tried to keep it interesting with loads of edits and other stuff, hopefully it'll work for you!

There's just over an hour of softer tunage from the early 90s, with a nod to places like Shelley's and the hacienda.  There's a mixed bag of stuff from Italian and UK piano screamers to full on vocal tracks.  No apologies for the tunage, it is what it is and if you were there, you'll probably know them all! With all the doom and gloom of the Corona virus lockdown, I thought I'd try and do something that has that feel good factor.  There's lots of mid 90s commercial stuff, plenty of cheese and a number of well hammered, but well loved favourites.  Tracks from the early to mid 90s, all vocal/piano house and the usual edits and mash ups to keep it interesting.  Definitely a different feel to the other Doved Up mixes.  Anyway, hope it does the trick 👍

Back to the breaks again, this time we venture up-tempo to 147BPM!  Way back in the early 90s, everyone used to call this kind of stuff hardcore, but there's that many genres now, people seem to have their own name for it...for me, it's always been breakbeat stuff, so this mix is called The Breaks Vol 2.

Same as always, there's a few obvious tracks and a few not-so-obvious tracks!
