PAN is excited to announce the release of Objekt’s debut album, 'Flatland'. Written between 2012 and 2014, 'Flatland' follows up a succession of dynamic single releases from his base in Berlin, including the recent split 12” with Dopplereffekt on Leisure System, "Cactus" b/w "Porcupine" on Hessle Audio and three 12” singles on his eponymous white label series. His recorded work so far has toyed with techno and electro conventions and has turned dancefloor tropes on their head, tickling the boundaries of what can or can’t constitute an effective club record.

Approaching the album format on its own terms, Objekt makes full use of the larger canvas to explore a framework of competing truths, multiple perspectives and conflicting accounts. 'Flatland' imagines a world in which any scene can be seen from every angle at once. Semblances and cross-references entwine the eleven original tracks and Objekt’s existing recordings, shaping a powerful and absorbing album that weaves between the alien and the hauntingly familiar.
This is an effervescent body of work, its sound design evoking vivid imagery and conveying the same unmistakeable sense of detail and movement for which Objekt has become known. On his first attempt, Objekt has constructed a mature and multilayered album with its own story to tell, from whichever angle you choose to approach it.

The album is mastered and cut by Matt Colton at Alchemy, pressed on a double 140g vinyl & CD. It features photography by Joe Dilworth and artwork by Bill Kouligas & Kathryn Politis.

A self-proclaimed 303-addict, LA-native @TheeMikeB turns in this set of raw acid, featuring a collab with Oliver Dollar and remixes by Sage Caswell, Madame and newcomer TRACE7000.

Mike has been involved in underground music since the 90's, a founding member of the legendary Banana Split party with DJ AM and Steve Aoki, Mike has also remixed and produced records with Diplo, Switch, Stretch Armstrong, Sinden, Jesse Rose, Oliver $, Sammy Bananas, Oliver and many more, featured on releases with labels such as Mad Decent, Fool's Gold, Play It Down, Dim Mak and Yoruba.

Lead track Tree House Acid sounds most at home on Turbo, reminiscent of prime Jesper Dahlback. Late At Night featuring Oliver $ is a classic-sounding slice of fat Chicago, while Let Her Back In, takes the narrative into trippier, psycho-loopy territory.

Storming remixes come courtesy of Sage Caswell, who stripped things down to raw techno, new Turbo signing TRACE7000, whose mix is a chunky late-night euro-bomb, and BNR pal Madame who brought in some tough electro power.

Cnidae is a Latin word for specific cells present among jellyfish, sea anemones, corals etc. It is these cells that separate cnidarians from other animals. Cnidarians are built in a very simple way, lacking skeleton animals. They seem to be innocent and beautiful, but there is also a sense of mystery, weirdness and wobbliness in them. They use cnidae, explosive cells, to capture prey and as a defence from predators. They do so by the use of toxins contained within the cnidae. If you have ever been stung by a jellyfish or felt the electric tingle from the tentacles of a sea anemone, you have been touched by cnidae.

cnidae is the sixth album released on the Ransom Note Records offshoot Bytes. jik is Paula, 21, and Bartek, 23, students based in Warsaw, Poland. cnidae is their debut album. Paula’s raw sketches formed the basis for almost all of the tracks. They were made in Ableton Intro, proof that constraints can be beneficial and also a reminder that great music doesn’t have to be created on sophisticated gear.

The album is made up of two extended ambient/drone pieces, embedded alongside several shorter, abstract electronic compositions. You are hearing 'arp', which falls into the latter category. Its beauty lies in its simplicity. The reflective, moving track is reminiscent of early AI-era Warp Records, with its lush pads and twinkling melody.
