September '20 Mix (Fast EBM / Synth / Industrial Techno)

NULL / VOID celebrated its 3rd birthday in July, but with lockdown at its peak we had to settle for a live-streamed event, which was a banging evening thanks in no small part to Soft Riot and Skrot Centralen's sets!

Conceived as a monthly club-night blending dancefloor-oriented industrial, techno and EBM - something popular elsewhere but lacking in Glasgow - we started on Sunday 2nd July 2017, taking the first Sunday slot in Nice N Sleazy's basement. We were thrilled to see such a mixed crowd show up and this only built over the first few months, encouraging us to put on our first live show for Hallowe'en that year. We chose goth overlord Qual to fit with the Hallowe'en theme, and synth wizard Soft Riot came onboard as support. The night was a resounding success, which led to us focussing increasingly on live acts (along with a few of our fave fellow DJs).

Since then we've had live acts playing most months - such as techno heavyweight Duellist, local rave wiz Sluhg, industrial icon E.S.A. and EBM master Autumns - and DJs like JD Twitch of Optimo and Ben Techy. We've also done occasional events in larger venues where we've had guests like NYC's Andi Harriman (of Synthicide) Keepsakes and Christina Sealey of Orphx.

We were really hoping to be able to have a party to celebrate making it to 3 years but obviously there are bigger things going on - missing the live gigs gave us the idea to put together some tracks from the guests we've loved so much over the years, almost like a mini-festival for your headphones. We're pumped to have local legends like Kleft, Denizens and South Heights rubbing shoulders with international belters Multiple Man and Celldod,  while there's new flesh in the form of punkish upstarts A Civil Terror and Skrot Centralen plus a debut from one of oor Dirty Marc's own projects, Duras.

We are donating any proceeds from this release (tape/digital) to Scotland's own Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights - there's so much we want to highlight and help all over the world, but for now there's still work to be done on our doorstep.
