Staines Morris

Double ballade (both descant lines have different words) written by F Andrieu, on, and about, the death of Machaut. This is the first such work of commemoration, but set the standard which is carried out to this day. Played on Moeck Descant and Alto, and Aulos Tenor recorders. SSAT. Historian Gaston Raynaud dates the text between April and 28 May 1377. From the Chantilly Codex.
