MODULAR EXPANSION PODCAST #083 | INSOLATE

Last time I was in Brasil I was given the great honour to play at D.Edge on Sunday morning after playing for Technoroute in the afternoon on Saturday. 

It's a fantastic club which I have been to many times over the years. I have played there once before with Chris Lib back to back a long time ago. 

The order of the day at D.Edge is low BPM techno, modern, minimal whatever you call it, basically it's an after hours so it's just not the hard fast stuff.  I was asked to play under the name Henry Cullen to make it clear it would be this kind of sound. 

It was 3am, the place was packed and the vibe was already laid down by Stefano from D.Edge. I hadn't had much sleep for 3 days I had come direct from LA to party with all my mates in Brasil, there may be the odd mistake I honestly can't remember it's a 3 hour set.

So this is me adapting to their sound as best I could.

Blasha & Allatt are co-founders and residents at Meat Free, hailed as one of Manchester’s best techno nights. Through sets at their own parties, they regularly impressed the artists they booked, with Ben Sims in particular championing them outside of Manchester by inviting them to play at his Machine parties and consequently its Boiler Room session in 2016. In 2018 their debut track 'Broughton 93' featured on Machine's 'Tribology' compilation and last week their remix of Blue Hour’s track ‘Mirimar’ came out, which sees them share label space with Hector Oaks, D.Dan & Vladimir Dubyshkin 2019 has already proved to be a big year for the duo with gigs at at Fabric, Tresor, Printworks & Freerotation under their belt.

BIO:
Vitto aka Vítek Patočka se poprvé k Drum and bassu dostal v roce 2010. Pravidelně chodil na DnB akce a začal se poté o to zajímat, začal zkoušet první mixy. Začátkem roku 2014 se rozhodl ukázat na české DnB scéně a tak začal dělat své akce v Jabloneckém klubu D-eppl aby ukázal lidem své dovednosti. Poté se zkusil přihlásit do hledáčku talentů, který pořádal Drumshot v Jabloneckém Woku, na akci zvané Rollin a tam se poprvé ukázal před širším publikem. Po této akci začal dostávat různé nabídky a zahrál si po boku Forbiddena society, Pixieho, Symplexe, Computerartista, B-Complexe, Snookey, Beatspot djs nebo si zahrál se severočeskými DJs Houbass, Drumshot, Skuban, Kopeczek. V jeho mixech se nejvíce ukazuje potemnější styl neurofunk. Někdy zabrouzdá i do Hard dnb!
