Bound To Break

Dave Boyes is a British singer/songwriter based in Madrid. He cut his teeth as a songwriter and live performer when he first went off traveling with his guitar and harmonica. This was a definitive period in his musical development. Writing songs helps keep him sane so he always keeps a notebook handy to jot things down. He writes and records under his own imprint "Outside Recordings" and releases music via his Band Camp page:

Español; Británico, residente en Madrid desde el año 2000. Compone, toca y graba sus propios temas en su “home studio” (en realidad en un rincón del salón) además de actuar sobre los escenarios madrileños. Lleva componiendo canciones desde que empezó a viajar por el mundo con su guitarra y harmónica. Aunque aprendió a tocar con sus padres temas de Bob Dylan, The Beatles y muchos grupos mas. Viajando, Dave tuvo tiempo de componer y la oportunidad de tocar con gente de muchos lugares diferentes. Fue un periodo definitivo en su desarrollo musical. Le han influido muchos estilos distintos de música desde indie, rock, psychedelic, pop, folk y blues hasta bossa nova, funk, jazz, electrónica y world music. Desde el punto de vista de un cantautor, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Nick Drake & Elliott Smith son una fuente constante de inspiración. Su E.P. de debut "Outside" fue votado nº4 en "Top Demos" por la revista "Mondosonoro".

Nuestra primera escapada por el territorio nacional ha sido en Madrid. Una de aquellas noches la pasamos con un tipo encantador, Dave Boyes, un británico afincado en la capital con el que anduvimos calle arriba, calle abajo... mientras descubríamos sus temas "How" y "Read the signs".

Dividimos la sesión en dos partes, la primera con el bullicio de la animada noche madrileña y la segunda, más íntima -y más idónea para la despedida- bajo la soledad del Viaducto de Segovia.
