You may call it a short cover but it's still a bootleg without artist's original permission. I had a Bootleg of darude sandstorm here, but was asked nicely to take it down by himself. Had a friendly chat with him during one of his twitch channel friday night jam sessions. He didn't wish to give permissions to use his copyrighted masterpiece to be used in non-monetized music for nobodies like me. And i'm fellow Finnish producer also.

Sandstorm by Darude (from Finland) was first released in late 1999 and sold more than 1 million copies in the USA. The original length was 7:26. My short cover is 1:31 and was made for my amazing sister Nicola.  I have detailed how I made this song at www.davebstevens.com/music

Sandstorm

Two Arturia KORG MS-20 V, and an Arturia ARP2600 V3, processing two recordings made in the airstream of a circulation fan. The wind noise both contributes to the output sound, but also is used to trigger envelopes and, in the case of the MS-20s, follow the envelope of the recordings. The ARP2600 is responsible for the Morse code-like sounds.

Ocean

This is a mix of a track I created for ixi Music's January Patreon challenge. The challenge was to use a specific chord, comprising of a perfect fifth plus a minor third. So, if C was the root, the chord would be C, G, and B♭. Another part of the challenge was to not write in the key of C. I chose D as the root, and based the entire tune around the three notes (across several octaves).

I replaced the instrumental parts of a track I completed for ixi Music's Patreon Challenge, in January (https://soundcloud.com/wasabicube/andiamo?si=c1d963b8e5ba48eab5ccaf512118e147&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing), with samples of my voice saying "Disquiet Junto, number six hundred and thirty-three". The only original track is a field recording of the voice of ice skaters, skating in Union Square, San Francisco, at Christmas, many years ago. The samplers I used were TAL Sampler and Ableton's Simpler. I also used Klevgränd's Tomofon, with an instrument based on the same sample, for the "strings".

Each section plays across all four strings and there is a solo section that can be played by any instrument in the ensemble, even the BASS!
