All These Roads was one of my favorite house tunes to come out last summer so when Atlantic approached me about doing the remix I was pumped - Sam and Zella's vocals are just so perfect for a festival or a warm summer day that I wanted to do the original track justice.  I thought it would be cool to draw an emotional contrast between Sam and Zella's vocals, so the remix starts in D Minor, just as the original was written, but the progression flips to F Major when Zella's vocals come in for the first time, and stays there for the rest of the track.  I think the result is a euphoric build before the first drop, and after road testing this one out for a few months I can say it's as good for the club as it is on a perfect summer day.

Fun fact about this track - if you don't buy it on iTunes, you're gonna have a dude named SULTAN pissed at you.  Do you really want that?  It's 99 cents to stay on his good side.

so every now and then i hear a song that hits me right in the feels, makes me feel like butterflies and sunsets and lonely bars, and this was one of them. i was simultaneously in love and also furious that I didn't write this song, so i was incredibly psyched to work on the remix - it reminded me how fun and awesome making music can be. it's one of the most emotional and moving dance tracks I've heard in awhile, so I tried to honor that and still put my own twist on it. much love to mako, those guys are brilliant, so go follow them and check them out if you haven't already. I wrote this for you two days after you left New York.  Honestly, I don't even remember the actual writing process.  Everything was such a blur but I knew that when I finished it that it was your song.  I even used my voice for the lead melodic synth in the drop to make sure that when you listen you hear me.  A few days later I heard the vocals and thought that they were perfect for us and your song.  This is not a remix, but a repurpose of something to fit seamlessly for us.
