Electric Lips SONGWRITING DEMO

From classical concert halls in the UK to the club charts of USA, Dave has been writing for many years with a main interest in commercial pop. He attended The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire studying composition gaining skills that enabled him to create music that crosses a variety of musical genres.  This upbringing allows him to combine deep orchestral textures with punchy pop to create a unique variety of emotions to hook listeners.

At the end of the noughties, Dave was scouted to be singer/songwriter for UK club act “Bassland” where he collaborated with producer R.C.B to create a unique blend of heartfelt ballads combined with punchy house beats.  Pre-dating Adele and Sam Smith, Dave used emotive and powerful lyrics to move listeners and keep them dancing, gaining fans across the globe and topping the MySpace club chart.

Recently Dave has worked with producers and writers such as Ruth Lorenzo, Sam Kennedy and Ian Wallman to create an emotive and create set of songs including the moving ballad “Anymore”, which reached the semi-final of the UK Songwriting competition; "Halo" which has juxtaposed edgy house beats and Lana Del Rey-style textures to create a massive commercial house track and powerful ballad "The Light of Day".

Dave is currently working with artists and producers from Nashville to London on a new commercial House project to bridge the gap of thought-provoking pop with cutting edge house beats.  Dave is also working with artists for live performances of original material in the UK and overseas.
