The Italian word bella, meaning "beautiful" for feminine subjects, doubles as a popular name, often short for Isabella or Annabella. 

Back in 2014, I nearly named my daughter Bella Leyla, but her mom vetoed the triple-name vibe, so we stuck with Leyla. When Leyla was a tiny crawler, she’d wiggle under my piano as I played. I’d mess around with repetitive chords, singing “Bella” to her, and she’d pop up on her knees, grooving to the shifts in harmony. I recorded the idea using GarageBand, but it sat unfinished for years. Enter Refusion AI, which helped me stretch my 26-bar track back to its full glory and layer in fresh “Bella” vocals—yep, that’s my voice, AI-revamped! 

My producer and I polished it off with a slick mix and master.I’m releasing this track copyright-free across platforms. As a social media manager, I know the struggle of hunting down upbeat, reel-ready tunes, and Bella’s got that feel-good spark—baby Leyla approved it ages ago with her dance moves!

Early 2025, I hit up a Secret Society event in Toronto’s nightlife scene and caught DJ Bella spinning. Inspired, I raced home, dusted off Bella (the song), and vowed to wrap up my lingering tracks under my GOLDIES album with Midooni.

Dave Leatherman aka René van der Weijde is a music producer / DJ with his roots in the early 90's. He was partly responsible for the success on the early 90's stealth label (Rotterdam) with releases like TFX (Deep Inside Of Me), Trancemission (Keep this Party Slammin') Techno Grooves and Space Trax (Bounce). Later on he joined the Pegasus label and together with Lex van Coeverden he produced the 90's hit Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall which was a huge success in many countries. In 2010 he picked up on producing and DJ ing again. Currently producing tracks on the Ibiza based Golden Key label, which also brings him to Club Lio  - Ibiza for gigs in the summer season.
